What is the Mystery Chip in FPL?
The Official Fantasy Premier League game has launched so we continue our coverage right here. In this article we cover one of the biggest changes the game has implemented ahead of the new season, the mystery chip.
What is the mystery chip? A question the community have asked themselves since the news broke. A chip is a major part of Fantasy Premier League and knowing what they are can be crucial towards planning for FPL managers.
Chip Update
Fantasy managers will be provided with a new chip for the new season ahead. This chip would go alongside the bench boost, free hit, wildcard and triple captain.
What we know so far is that it’s known as ‘Mystery Chip’. The only other thing we know about the chip is that it will be revealed ahead of January 2025, this is when the chip becomes playable.
What Could the Mystery Chip be?
The new chip has caught the attention of the community. Most have been guessing what it could be since the news broke.
Below we check out what some members of the community think the mystery chip could actually be.
Some within the community seem to think the Mystery Chip has no meaning yet.
BlackWolf is one of many who suggest that Fantasy Premier League simply aren’t sure what the Mystery Chip is just yet. This indicates that they could use the next several months to come up with a really fun idea.
Some like FPL Pig are making light of the new chip. In this case he jokes that the game could give us the opportunity to delete our own accounts to ‘escape this eternal prison’.
Others have seriously debated what the Mystery Chip is.
Although disagreeing with it’s timing FPL Raptor suggests that it could be similar to a Limitless chip in UEFA Gaming.
A Limitless chip gives the user the ability to make as many changes to their team as possible before the deadline. It also, as the name gives away, gives users unlimited budget. This is similar to the free chip in that your team would return back to its original state before activating.
Whatever the Mystery Chip is the community may have to stay patient for the next several months.
