It could be worth placing our trust in Real Madrid on the opening night. Los Blancos have proven to be one of the most reliable teams when it comes to scoring in the Champions League. They are also in good scoring form – having found the net twice or more in 13 of their previous 15 matches.
This week, Carlo Ancelotti’s men come up against a hugely out of sorts Manchester City. Not only have they conceded between 2-4 goals in four of their previous five Champions League matches, they also recently capitulated defensively in their 5-1 loss to Arsenal in the Premier League.
There can be little doubt around Manchester City’s defensive vulnerabilities currently, and one player who seems likely of taking advantage of that is Vinicius Junior (€11.2m). The Brazilian has been a major driving force for the Spanish giants in the Champions League for some time now. His relentlessness in Champions League over the last several years has highlighted him as one of the best and most reliable UCL Fantasy assets in ‘big games’.

PSG could also be another tempting side for captaincy this week. Whilst less consistent in the Champions League than Real Madrid, and fact it can be difficult to predict which of their attackers are going to return in any given game, they have form and the fixture to do well.
Brest lay ahead this week for PSG, and they face them away from home. It’s a clash of the French sides this week, and one Brest have failed to win during their last 20 attempts. With at least four goals scored in four of their previous six matches, PSG have form at their side, and they have plenty of options to pick from.
One of those picks is midfielder Ousmane Dembele (€8.4m). Dembele is undoubtedly one of the most in-form attackers in Europe as of late. The Frenchman has racked up a whopping 16 goals in his last 10 matches. That total consists of two hattricks, of which came in his previous three games. It would be unwise to rule out teammate Bradley Barcola (€7m) too. The 22-year-old is also in explosive form – having banked both a goal and an assist in four of his last eight matches in all competitions.

It will take a brave UCL Fantasy manager to back against Bayern on Wednesday. The Bavarians, as well as sitting eight points clear of title rivals Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, have also maintained a scoring average of 3.1 goals per match along the way.
Bayern aren’t just scoring lots of goals domestically either, Vincent Kompany’s mean have produced an average of 2.5 per match in the Champions League. With that in mind, and taking into account their own defensive instabilities, it may be very difficult for Celtic to keep Bayern out this week.
Spearheading the Bayern attack, and taking their penalties, Harry Kane (€10.7m) becomes a standout option. The English international has been one of the most potent strikers in world football for some years now and that doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon, especially when taking into account he has amassed 35+ goal contributions in all competitions this season. Back-to-back braces in his previous two matches also shows that he goes into the round in excellent recent form.

Milan have been far from convincing this season. But with a new manager at the helm and increasingly impressive performances as of late (their 1-1 against Serie A Champions Inter and 3-1 win against Roma), they appear to be finding some momentum.
This week they come up against Feyenoord. The Dutch side have impressed from am attacking perspective and their can be no doubts about that. However, with at least two goals shipped in four of their previous five Champions League matches, their defence is evidently shaky. Their recent 6-1 loss to Lille is a good example of how they can crumble at the back.
Milan have signed some exciting new attackers over the last several weeks, but none are yet to be more convincing than talisman, penalty taker and midfielder Christian Pulisic (€7.5m). As well as hitting five attacking returns in just seven Champions League matches, the American also heads into the game having mustered up two assists in his latest Serie A match.
Other players UCL Fantasy managers could consider include Bayern midfielders Michael Olise (€6.7m) and Jamal Musiala (€9m), and the in-form and explosive Matteo Retegui (€5.5m) of Atalanta.
