UCL Fantasy Matchday 8 Best Differentials

Last modified date

The new round of the Champions League is about to begin and so we continue coverage by reeling off the UCL Fantasy Matchday 8 best differentials. To help us we consider lots of different factors including team and player form, fixture difficulty and stats.

Differentials are players who have low ownership. Owning a differential who has success can be extremely influential on both mini-league position and overall rank. Because of this checking out our UCL Fantasy Matchday 8 differentials can be extremely beneficial.

David Raum – 1% Ownership

Leipzig have nothing to play for this week, but they didn’t have anything to play for in the previous round when they beat Sporting CP. This week they come head-to-head with Sturm Graz, who rank among the worst teams in the competition for total goals scored.

The above could mean we see a Leipzig clean sheet, and if we do then David Raum (€4.9m) will likely benefit. The German can also be an elite distributor at times – three assists in his previous two matches shows that. Raum has both defensive and offensive potential this week against Sturm Graz, potentially making him a fantastic differential to own.

Serhou Guirassy – 8% Ownership

Dortmund have been extremely poor recently – having lost all four of their previous matches on the bounce. What is important though, is that they continue to score goals, and that is something we are also likely to see from them this week.

Home advantage could be big for Dortmund in Matchday 8 as they come up against Shakhtar. The Ukrainians have so far averaged around two goals conceded per game, so bringing in penalty taker Serhou Guirassy (€8m), who scored in his previous Champions League, could be a clever move.

Rodrygo – 5% Ownership

Real Madrid were exceptional in their Matchday 7 fixture offensively – scoring a huge five goals and punishing a poor Salzburg defence. Brest lay ahead, who although seemingly much tougher than their previous opponent, the French side collapsed in their 2-0 loss against Shakhtar.

With Vinicius Junior suspended, many have or plan to flock to Kylian Mbappe, and that could be a great move. But, for UCL Fantasy managers looking for a differential then Rodrygo (€8.7m) may just be the one. The Brazilian has explosive history in the Champions League, and his recent brace against Salzburg was just another showing of that.

Bradley Barcola – 8% Ownership

For weeks UCL Fantasy managers have been investing in the Stuttgart defence, hoping to pick up clean sheets points against extremely poor opposition. But, the German side continue to leak goals, failing to keep a single clean sheet against the likes of Crvena Zvezda, Young Boys and Slovan Bratislava.

This week Stuttgart go up against a much tougher side. Defending against a team who just beat Manchester City 4-2 may be tough, so why not invest in a PSG attacker? Bradley Barcola (€7m) has quickly become the face of PSG due to his efforts this season. And, after racking up 10 points for his goal and assist in Matchday 7, he is in great form.

Gabriel Martinelli – 3% Ownership

When talisman and penalty taker Bukayo Saka picked up an injury, many thought the walls would come crumbling down from an attacking perspective. But, that hasn’t seemed to be the case, with back-to-back 3-0 wins in the Champions League.

Girona are up next for Arsenal. The Spanish side have been woeful as of late – losing their last four European games on the bounce. It could be another great opportunity for Arsenal to score goals and among them you’d expect Brazilian Gabriel Martinelli (€7.5m), who has returned in two of his previous three Champions League outings.
