UCL Fantasy Matchday 7 Best Budget Players
With the new round just around the corner we take a look at some of the UCL Fantasy Matchday 7 best budget players. Using fixtures, stats, and team and player from we reveal some of budget picks with the most potential for the round ahead.
It could be extremely difficult to get all of the players you want into your squads at times which is why finding the UCL Fantasy Matchday 7 best budget players can be absolutely essential. Budget players are great but finding cheap picks with massive potential could be even more beneficial.
Rico Lewis
Manchester City have a lovely fixture against Copenhagen in Matchday 7. What’s even better is that we can access their team sheet before the deadline which removes any concern about rotation, or at least for this round.
The treble winners have struggled for clean sheets overall this season, both domestically and in Europe. However, their underlying defensive data remains excellent which suggests they have clean potential. They also kept a clean sheet in their last match which should give their backline confidence.
We think the most reliable Manchester City defender in terms of minutes is Rico Lewis (€4.9m). We also think he could have most attacking potential too, especially after two assists in the Group Stage.
You can also see that Lewis plays out of position. Although categorised as a defender the youngster plays in midfield. This also suggests he has more attacking potential than his defensive teammates.
For managers looking to go even cheaper then Nathan Ake comes in at just €4.5m. The Dutchman is less of a longer-term pick than Rico Lewis who seems destined to play every UCL match this campaign. However, if Ake does start then his price-tag could raise his appeal massively.
Ian Maatsen
Dortmund have been neglected by UCL Fantasy managers during the campaign so far. This was primarily due to their tough Group which they won against the likes of Milan and PSG. The time to target Dortmund players has come as they approach their match against PSV.
Dortmund started their domestic league shaky to say the least. However, the German side seem to be gathering momentum and confidence recently which is exactly what we want as potential investors.
Dortmund won four of their last five matches but more significantly kept four clean sheets. With this in mind we could buy into their backline.
Standing out at the back is new signing and former Chelsea man Ian Maatsen (€4.5m). The Dutchman has started all of Dortmund’ last five games so is evidently relied upon by the manager.
Positionally Maatsen is already showing hunger to advance forward and we can see that in his heatmap above.
When it comes to his offensive capabilities some may be aware of Maatsen’ time at Burnley. There in his final Championship campaign he managed 10 goal contributions. Also, in the five matches he has played for Dortmund he has already registered two assists.
Warren Zaïre-Emery
PSG usually have one or two attractive assets every campaign but our next pick could be an exciting addition to our teams, but why?
When focusing on their recent form the French side have won eight and drawn two of their last 10 matches in all competitions. During that period PSG also managed to net a massive 31 times. That averages out at 3.1 goals scored per game.
PSG face an out of sorts Real Sociedad this week. The Spanish side may have impressed throughout the Group Stage but they have failed to win any of their last four matches in all competitions so could well be a team to target.
One of the cheapest routes into the attack is with Warren Zaïre-Emery who comes in at an eye watering €5.3m. As you can see although playing in a central midfield position the 17-year-old, yes 17-year-old, likes to push forward into attacking areas.
Warren Zaïre-Emery also has actual attacking output as well. He may have managed just four attacking returns in the French League so far but he has a knack for the UCL – bagging one goal and three assists in just five matches.
