UCL Fantasy Matchday 5 Best Differentials
The fifth round of the Champions League is about to begin and so we continue coverage by reeling off the UCL Fantasy Matchday 5 best differentials. To help us we consider lots of different factors including team and player form, fixture difficulty and stats.
Differentials are players who have low ownership. Owning a differential who has success can be extremely influential on both mini-league position and overall rank. Because of this checking out our UCL Fantasy Matchday 5 differentials can be extremely beneficial.
Tijjani Reijnders – 3% Ownership
It was a rough start to the new campaign for Milan, after losing both of their first two matches. They reacted to that by beating both Club Brugge and Real Madrid 3-1 in Matchday 3 and Matchday 4 respectively.
This week Milan have a much easier test against Slovan Bratislava, the side who have conceded the second most goals in the tournament so far. Whilst many will look to Cristian Pulisic as a route into their frontline, fellow midfielder Tijjani Reijnders (€5.6m), although playing in central midfield, has scored or assisted in his last four consecutive matches.
Malik Tillman – 1% Ownership
Since their opening day away loss to Juventus, PSV have impressed – holding the likes of Sporting and PSG to a draw, and beating Spanish side Girona in the latest round. Their latest match was a good example of how effective they can be against weaker sides, and they face another one this week at home.
Shakhtar lay ahead next, which is another opportunity for PSV to display their season scoring average of three goals per game. One player who could benefit from those goals is Malik Tillman (€7m), who bagged a whopping 19 points in the recent round for scoring, assisting twice and picking up a player of the match award.
Nicolas-Gerrit Kühn – 1% Ownership
Another side who play at home this week is Celtic. There were plenty of question marks around their quality after the loss against Dortmund, but since then the Scottish Champions have both held Atalanta to a draw, and beat a strong Leipzig side at home in a 3-1 victory.
This week for Celtic is Club Brugge, and the game could be a good opportunity for Nicolas-Gerrit Kühn (€4.5m) to repeat the 16 points he raked in during Matchday 4. The German seems to be in the middle of an explosive patch of form – having produced two attacking returns in every one of his previous three matches in all competitions.
Maghnes Akliouche – 1% Ownership
Monaco are another side who have caught many within the community by surprise. The French side have seen off Barcelona, Crvena Zvezda and Bologna in their first three matches, and remain unbeaten during their entire campaign.
Monaco play at home this week, and the last time they played there, they netted a huge five goals against Crvena Zvezda. This week they face an out of sorts Benfica, and 22-year-old Maghnes Akliouche (€5.3m) could be one of their best attacking assets. As well as registering a goal contribution in three of his first four Champions League matches, he also takes corners for his side, which increases his assist potential dramatically.
Dani Olmo – 5% Ownership
There can be no avoiding the fact that Barcelona are in fantastic scoring form. The Catalans have amassed a whopping 14 goals in their last three matches in the Champions League, and this week they face an inconsistent Brest backline at home.
With the above in mind, it could be wise to double up on the Barcelona attack this week. Lamine Yamal has been ruled out of Matchday 5 with an injury, which means that Dani Olmo (€7.9m) will almost certainly start this week. Olm’s move from Leipzig has been plagued with injury thus far, but in the seven matches Olmo has played for Barcelona, he has netted five times, showing how effective he can be when playing.
