UCL Fantasy Matchday 11 Best Budget Gems

The new round of the 2024/25 Champions League season is edging closer. With this in mind we continue our coverage by picking out the UCL Fantasy Matchday 11 best budget gems. To do this we consider several factors including fixture difficulty and form.
Budget players can be vital for UCL Fantasy managers. Cheap assets allow more budget for premium picks who can be some of the most consistent in the game. Finding cheap assets is essential but finding cheap assets who do well can contribute to both rank and mini-league position.
Club Brugge

Club Brugge shouldn’t be underestimated going into Matchday 11. The Belgian side are much better at home, which is where they play this week against Aston Villa. Interestingly the last time they faced Aston Villa was in the current campaign, a game Club Brugge won 1-0.
Taking the above into account, investing in the backline could be beneficial. Goalkeeper and former Liverpool man Simon Mignolet (€4.5m) is one of the cheapest routes in defence. Their standout defensive asset however could be centre-back Brandon Mechele (€4.6m). As well as clean sheet potential, Mechele has also produced at least 10 ball recoveries in each of his previous three matches.
In attack Maxim De Cuyper (€4.5m) comes in incredibly cheap. Although playing left-back for his side, De Cuyper has managed seven goal contributions this season. A more direct route into the Club Brugge frontline is main man Ferran Jutgla (€6.6m). Jutgla hit returns in all three of his last matches, against Atalanta twice, and versus Manchester City. Midfielder Christos Tzolis (€5.7m) is cheaper than Jutgla, and also bagged a return in Matchday 10.
Aston Villa

Including Aston Villa assets in the same article as Club Brugge assets may seem counter-productive, but ignoring Unai Emery and his men could be foolish. Club Brugge are stronger at home usually, but they have also won just three of their last 10 matches in all competitions, which reflects significant inconsistencies.
Aston Villa have plenty of cheap options to pick from this week. If backing their defence this week, then new signing Axel Disasi (€4.5m) is nice and cheap. Fellow Frenchman Lucas Digne (€4.6m) is arguably a much better option from an attacking perspective. The full-back has already produced seven goal contributions in all competitions this campaign.
One of the most effective ways, and thankfully the cheapest, into the Aston Villa frontline is via midfielder Morgan Rogers (€5m). Rogers has been excellent this season, and his recent hattrick against Celtic in the Champions League is just one example of his potential.
More Great Budget Gems

Arsenal have a good matchup with PSV next, who have been inconsistent throughout most of their campaign. Jurrien Timber (€4.4m) comes in nice and cheap, with clean sheet potential. In attack we could well see midfielder Ethan Nwaneri (€4.7m), who has already produced a double-digit haul in the Champions League.
No team in the Champions League have managed more clean sheets or less goals conceded than Inter this season. This week they come up against Feyenoord, and they do so without goalkeeper Yann Sommer. Instead, Josep Martinez (€5m) continues to play in his absence.
Those looking for a cheap goalkeeper could well go even cheaper than Martinez mentioned above. Barcelona face Benfica this week, which could mean clean sheet potential for Wojciech Szczesny (€4m). Centre-back Pau Cubarsi (€4.6m) is another cheap pick in the Barcelona defence.
