- Despite a sub-par first Ro16, I am fairly happy with the structure of my team and all of transfers are made to cover for any second leg upsets.
- Sane -> Bellingham – I am still of the opinion that Bayern will overcome Lazio and access the QF round, and with the Bundesliga giants needing to score, Sané looks like a good pick to have. However, I do not want to triple up on them just in case I am wrong. Also, Bellingham always feels like a must-have this season and this transfer overall gives me enough budget to upgrade two players.
- Zaire-Emery -> Galeno – I am slightly less confident in Arsenal’s chances. With this being the first UCL knockout round for many of their players, I can see Porto hitting them on the counter profiting from Arsenal’s inexperience. Zaire-Emery was a guaranteed budget option for the next round, but I’d rather play more aggressively at this stage of the game.
- Saliba -> Dimarco – Speaking of Arsenal, a double up is too much for me right now. Inter have been crazy good this season and I feel very comfortable on doubling up on a defence who have conceded only 12 goals in 26 Serie A fixtures.

Notes
- It’s a difficult Matchday as Man City could rotate, Inter and PSG play away from home against tough opponents and Bayern and Arsenal have great fixtures but are under pressure not to drop out of the competition.
- As I’m currently still outside the top 1k I’m going triple Bayern again and hope they will turn it around while other managers may start getting rid of their players.
- Musiala in for Sané as I’m worried about the latters minutes and Musiala has looked like the only dangerous Bayern attacker lately.
- Thuram to Bellingham is a no brainer.
- I’m not sure if Stones will play after starting in the league this weekend so I’m transferring him out for Maatsen and hope that Aké will start (not too sure though).
- Captaincy will be probably swing between Kane, Haaland, Saka and Dimarco.

Notes
- I have a few early thoughts on transfers.
- Currently Sane is an injury doubt therefore a move to Musiala is likely on the cards.
- In addition, Brahim Diaz after his heroics last week likely won’t start this time around, so moving him on to Bellingham would be ideal.
- To fund the above, I may need to lose KDB to Rodri, as KDB may be a rotation risk in any case off the back of the derby and Liverpool at the weekend.

- The knockout phase started badly with just 47 points from MD7. This is due to two reasons. The first was not listening to UCL Fantasy Podcast review and the second was panic changes from the original plan.
- If I would have kept my first draft team I would have got more points by just replacing Bellingham. MD8 will be correcting those mistakes. Three transfers will be Foden, Lunin and Kimmich for Sancho, X Simmons and Ederson. Foden in for obvious reasons, he is in form of his life. Lunin is the best budget GK who should be going up in price. Kimmich is the punty pick. He is the highest BR points player making him a safe floor pick.
- Captaincy Pick Day 1 – Kane, Day 2 Haaland, Day 3 – Saka and Day 4 – Hummels / Calhanoglu.

Notes
- The plan for MD8 is to use my Free transfers for Real Madrid and Bayern players.
- Players like Vini Jr and Bellingham are on my radar!
- Captaincy will probably be on Kane for day 1 of MD8.

Notes
- Captains: Kane, Haaland, Saka, and Thuram if fit.
- If I have a feeling that Foden doesn’t start I’ll sell him for Musiala.
- My second transfer will most likely be Sane to Bellingham if Sane is still injured.
- I have nothing much to do, I just hope that players who I keep start and then I can expect a good week.
- Good luck!

Notes
- Two changes from the first leg: – Bellingham in place of Foden: Phil was wonderful this weekend, but I see him being rested more for this match. Jude will be out for revenge after last weekend’s red card, a real potential captain.
- Molina in place of Gvardiol: a real choice to fit within my budget, as Gvardiol is still injured. Molina could be a source of points but also a strategic choice if Atletico go through to the next round.
- Captains, in order: Mbappé, Bellingham, Saliba, Thuram (and it’s not because I’m French, I swear!)
- Good luck to you all !
