UCL Fantasy Best Differentials for Matchday 4
In this article we take a look through some of the UCL Fantasy best differentials for Matchday 4. To help us do that we have brought in expert manager and regular contributor @FplRossoneri who is one of the best in the community at finding them.
Differentials are players with low ownership within the game. They help to gain rank or an edge over your mini-league rivals. Because of this it can be absolutely vital to know who the best differentials for Matchday 4 are.
Introduction
Welcome to my UCL Fantasy best differentials for Matchday 4 article. For each Matchday, I go through the best differentials UCL Fantasy managers can target to increase their overall ranks and be a step ahead of their competition.
All players mentioned here will have less than 10% ownership. As always, I want to take the opportunity to thank the wonderful team @FFCommunity for giving me this platform to continue talking about UCL Fantasy. It is a game I absolutely love and have been playing for over 5+ years now.
Lastly, before I get into the meat of it, I am again super thankful to everyone who has supported my articles by giving them a read. The amount of love the MD1-MD3 articles have got thus far means the world to me. I have loved each and every feedback and your support is one of the major reasons I keep going, so thank you, my lovely readers.
Antoine Griezmann, Atletico Madrid, 10.5m, TSB: 3%
In the last year or so Griezmann by far has been Atletico’s best player, he amassed 15 goals and 16 assists in 31 starts last season. This season Griezmann has again shown he can still bang in the goals and be a talisman, he has scored seven goals in just 11 starts and looks great up top with Morata.
Atletico as a team has started off well in La Liga keeping four clean sheets but more importantly, beat city rivals in the Madrid derby a few weeks ago. Griezmann is currently only owned by 3% of all UCL Fantasy managers and with Atletico set to play Celtic again at home in MD4, he could be a great differential option for your squads.
Jeremy Doku, Manchester City, 7.0m, TSB: 5%
Man City have always found it easy to replace players, this season Riyad Mahrez left the club to move to Saudi Arabia and City immediately signed Belgian wonderkid Jeremy Doku. Doku in just six starts in the Premier League has scored two goals and assisted five which bodes well in terms of form.
Man City are up against Young Boys and it looks like it is going to be one of those nights at the Etihad. Doku at just 5% ownership could be the differential you are looking for.
Nahuel Molina, Atletico Madrid, 6m, TSB: 3%
Another Atletico player I would like to recommend is Molina who is going a bit under the radar in UCL Fantasy because of his steep 6m price. It was him not so long ago who helped Argentina win the World Cup scoring the decisive penalty in the shootout in the finals.
This season for Atletico, Molina has amassed two goals and one assist in nine matches in La Liga and has clearly cemented that RB spot. In MD4 playing a Celtic side known to concede goals, Molina could be in for a haul and if you are using a chip like limitless, he should be in your thinking at just 3% ownership.
Diogo Costa, FC Porto, 5.5m, TSB: 5%
Costa’s name will go down in UCL Fantasy folklore after the campaign he had last year where he saved three penalties in three consecutive MDs and even got an assist to rack up 58 UCL Fantasy points in eight games.
Costa and Porto have started slow this new season only keeping three clean sheets in 10 games but I expect them to do better moving forward. Costa is currently only owned by 5% of managers probably because of his increased price of 5.5M but he still is a good differential GK to own given he plays Royal Antwerp at home in MD4.
Santiago Gimenez, Feyenoord, 7.5m, TSB: 1%
The Mexican has been all the rage in Feyenoord ever since he joined the club last season. Giménez in just over a season of football at Feyenoord has scored 28 goals and assisted another five in 42 matches. This season in particular he looks to be in fine form scoring 13 goals in just 10 matches so far.
From a UCL Fantasy perspective, he has come to the party scoring a brace in MD3 vs Lazio at home and looks set to continue his rich vein of form. Giménez is at a reasonable price of 7.5m and with just 1% of managers owning him at the moment, he is my Uber differential for this MD and a very easy inclusion into my UCL Fantasy Best Differentials for Matchday 4.
Brais Mendez, Real Sociedad, 6.8m, TSB: 9%
Brais Méndez is having one of those seasons to remember being the Talisman for a Real Sociedad side that have shown a great brand of football this season. In La Liga, Méndez has five goal contributions in 11 matches but it is the Champions League where he has been shining so far getting at least a goal in each of the first three MDs.
In UCL Fantasy terms Méndez is the top points-scoring player so far ahead of even the likes of Jude Bellingham who is three points behind Méndez. With a home fixture against an out-of-form Benfica coming up in MD4, this is probably one of the few chances to own in at less than 10% ownership.
Notable Mentions
Here I would like to mention a few other names according to their position, price and ownership respectively who caught my attention and can be considered as good differential options for MD4 as well:
- GK – Nick Pope (5.5m) – 3%, J Oblak (6m) – 5%.
- DEF – Diego Dalot (5m) – 1%, Andreas Christensen (5m) – 2%, D Raum (4.5m) – 7%.
- MID – P Foden (8m) – 6%, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (9.5m) – 9%, A Gordon (5.5m) – 2%.
- FWD – Rasmus Hojlund (7m) – 7%, L Openda (7.5m) – 2%, A Morata (7.6m) – 4%.
