Transfers and Gossip up to July 18th
As the leagues come to their conclusion around Europe and the rest of the world, many will be looking to buy, loan or sell players. We catchup with the transfers and gossip up to July 18th with the help of top tier source Fabrizio Romano and other reliable sources.
Overviewing the transfers and gossip up to July 18th can be a huge help for fantasy managers around the world. Whether it affects Fantasy Premier League, UCL Fantasy or another Fantasy game, we look at what the deal could mean for the player or team from a fantasy point of view.
Declan Rice joins Arsenal
After a long on-going saga with Declan Rice he has finally joined Arsenal as we can see from their tweet below. The fee is reported to be around £105m which eclipses the sum they paid for Pepe in 2019. Rice plays as a central midfielder and it one of the best in the world in his role.
Rice is a significant signing for ‘The Gooners’ and could help massively improve both their defence and attack moving forward. Arsenal are playing FPL and UCL Fantasy football this season and potential investors will be even more motivated due to this deal.
Kim Min-jae to Bayern
Fabrizio Romano states no issues, no problems for Kim Min-jae to Bayern. Kim is a Bayern player and has been since July 8th. It was all about signing the documents. Bayern triggered Kim’ release clause so the deal was straight forward.
Kim Min-jae has been one of the best centre-backs in Europe over the last season. He also helped Napoli to clinch the Serie A title. This could have several fantasy implications and one of them could be that Bayern may be even more defensively investable in UCL Fantasy. Another factor to consider is this deal is a big loss for the Napoli backline which could make their defence less investable in Serie A Fantasy.
Willian to Fulham
Fabrizio Romano also confirmed Willian is a Fulham player again. The Brazilian spent two weeks as a free agent whist receiving offers from Nottingham Forest and several Saudi clubs before he made his decision to re-join the Cottagers.
Willian (£5.5m) could be a very good option for FPL managers this season. He racked up some of the best non-expected goal involvement amongst his teammates in he most recent campaign whilst also producing 10 goal contributions.
Could Riyad Mahrez leave Manchester City?
Fabrizio Romano has tweeted that agents of Riyad Mahrez have requested to speak to Manchester City after discussing contract details with Saudi club Al Ahil. Manchester right-back Kyle Walker will also speak to his manager about a bid from Bayern.
Riyad Mahrez has been a royal servant for many years now and his performances in both the Premier League and Champions League will be missed. If the Algerian leaves it opens up a space for the likes of midfielder Phil Foden (£7.5m) and striker Julian Alvarez (£6.5m) will appear making them a lot more attractive as FPL options.
Where is Xavi Simons going?
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Xavi Simons is on the move. Leipzig remain favourites to sign Xavi on loan from mother club PSG. All parties are waiting for the final green light and some of it depends on how much game time PSG can guarantee Xavi.
Xavi Simons is a 20-year-old attacker and played his football in the Eredivisie with Ajax last season. There he impressed football fans around the world and managed a huge 19 goals and eight assists. Many UCL Fantasy managers will be very keen on his price if he joins Leipzig on loan.
