Transfers and Gossip up to January 17th

Last modified date

As the leagues continue around Europe and the rest of the world, many are looking to buy, loan or sell players. We catchup with the transfers and gossip up to January 17th with the help of top tier source Fabrizio Romano and other reliable sources.

Overviewing the transfers and gossip up to January 17th can be a huge help for fantasy managers around the world. Whether it affects Fantasy Premier League, UCL Fantasy or another Fantasy game, we look at what the deal could mean for the player or team from a fantasy point of view.

Reguilon is on the move again

Fabrizio Romano confirms that Sergio Reguilon is on his way to Brentford on a loan deal from Tottenham.

Reguilon has struggled to secure a spot in Tottenham’ starting 11 which could be why he joined Manchester United on loan at the start of the campaign. Unfortunately Reguilon experienced a similar situation with the Reds.

FPL managers will be closely monitoring Reguilon at Brentford, especially as he comes in at just £4.4m.

Ngonge moves closer to the Serie A champions

Verona’ Cyril Ngonge has completed medical tests with Napoli for a permanent deal worth €18m plus €2m in add-ons.

This is a massive blow for Serie A Fantasy managers. The first issue being that the community will now be without an excellent budget player who has racked up eight goal contributions already. Ngonge also played in the Blank Gameweek this week for Verona and due to his move managers will now have one less player at their disposal.

On a more positive note, Napoli now have a top talent in their ranks so Serie A Fantasy managers will be paying close attention on his upcoming gametime.

Real Sociedad target their man

Real Sociedad have turned their attention to Union Berlin’ frontline. It looks like Sheraldo Becker is on his way to the Champions League participants with negotiations in the final stages.

Sheraldo Becker impressed during the group stages of the Champions League. The Suriname international netted two goals in just five of his European matches.

The deal could be a great one for Real Sociedad. However, UCL Fantasy managers may be concerned about potential rotation in the frontline moving forward.

Gossip

Rumours continue to circulate regarding the future of Victor Osimhen. The Nigerian is on the radar of the some of the best clubs in Europe. This comes after Osimhen notched up 30 goals/assists last season. His contribution helped Napoli to win Serie A. This season Osimhen has maintained that same form. In fact, the 25-year-old has already managed nine returns in just 13 games as well as scoring in his first match at AFCON with Nigeria.

As we can see below, Osmihen would one day love to play in the Premier League. This is something clubs like Chelsea and Arsenal will be keen to hear.

Victor Osmihen isn’t the only striker catching the eye of top clubs. Viktor Gyökeres was relentless in the Championship with Coventry last season. There he scored a huge 21 goals and created 10 assists. His exceptional season then earned him a move to Sporting in Portugal where he has already racked up 11 goals and eight assists in just 16 games this season.

Sporting have however set a large sum in terms of release clause which may or may not be enough to put off the likes of Chelsea who are searching for a striker.
