Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 44
The Championship is heating up as we head into the latter stages of the season. It’s a quick turnaround this week. Because of that we bring in our regular contributor @TomP_FF. He takes us through all of the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 44.
Top picks can be extremely helpful to the GAFFR community. Knowing who the best players to buy week in week out can be super beneficial. It can also help with things like transfers, captaincy, chip strategy and long-term planning.
Top Picks – Defenders – Kyle Walker-Peters
Southampton have another double Gameweek this week so of course it makes sense to invest in their defence. Kyle Walker-Peters remains the most offensively convincing option at the back after scoring recently against Coventry.
Ricardo Pereira
Leicester have two home matches against West Brom and Southampton this week. The Foxes have conceded the second least amount of goals this season so defensive investment could be crucial this week. Ricardo Pereira has racked up three goals and three assists this season so he could be the standout option.
Differential Pick – Ryan Giles
Hull also have a double Gameweek so they too could be worth more of a focus. Ryan Giles became a GAFFR legend in his 22/23 season after creating a huge 11 assists. The hope is he can try to regain some of that attacking form this week with two attempts.
Midfielders – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
The double Gameweek makes investing in a Leicester attacker even more essential. The best option is of course Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who after collecting 12 goals and 13 assists this season, could well be one of the standout captaincy options this week.
Fabio Carvalho
Hull have netted at least two goals in all three of their last matches which combined with the double is enough to want one of their attackers. If you haven’t snapped Fabio Carvalho up yet this could be the week. Carvalho goes into the new round with an impressive five goals in his last six matches.
Differential Pick – Ozan Tufan
For those looking to go a little bit different, or for managers who simply want to double up on the Hull attack then penalty taker Ozan Tufan could be a great pick. Tufan has collected a cool nine goals and two assists this season so could well return this week.
Forwards – Adam Armstrong
With Cardiff and Leicester this week it could be very difficult to go without Adam Armstrong. Some may even be tempted to hand Armstrong the captaincy armband due to his amazing and consistent output this season – hitting a huge 20 goals and 12 assists this already.
Che Adams
Southampton could be a great team to go different this week. Many, and rightly so, will opt for his teammate but fellow attacker Che Adams could be as good if not better as an option this week. Adams goes into the double after bagging three goals in his last four matches.
Differential Pick – Jay Stansfield
Birmingham beat Coventry 3-0 in their latest fixture so go into the new round full of attacking confidence. It is worth highlighting that they face the worst defence in the league this week, Rotherham. Spearheading the attack is Jay Stansfield who scored in three of his last four league matches.
