Top picks can be extremely helpful to the GAFFR community. Knowing who the best players to buy week in week out can be super beneficial. It can also help with things like transfers, captaincy, chip strategy and long-term planning.
Defenders – Kyle Walker-Peters
Southampton need a result this week to bounce back from their recent mini-slump. They face Blackburn next up who have won just one of their last 10 matches. Kyle Walker Peters could have potential at both ends of the pitch and should return to the starting 11 after a recent benching.
Ricardo Pereira
Leicester appear back at it after their recent big win over Norwich. They have a lovely home match next up against a Birmingham side who have scored in just one of their last five league matches. Because of that and his six goal contributions this season, Ricardo Pereira could have huge potential.
Differential Pick – Luke Ayling
Middlesbrough are in a great period of defensive form recently – keeping a huge four full clean sheets in their last five league games. One player who stands out is Luke Ayling. The former Leeds man has managed an impressive four assists in his last six matches.
Midfielders – Crysencio Summerville
Leeds have a tough-on-paper clash with Coventry this week but with four wins from their last five matches and at least two goals scored in all of their last four it could be wise to stick with their attackers. After a recent quiet patch, standout attacker Crysencio Summerville has scored in back-to-back matches signalling a return to form.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall
Birmingham aren’t just struggling to score goals but they are also struggling to keep clean sheets. This is something the newly rejuvenated Foxes can take advantage of. Another player who has made a recent comeback in terms of output is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who secured two assists and a goal in his last two games.
Differential Pick – Ilias Chair
QPR have gone from the relegation zone and losing most of their matches to winning five of their last eight games and sitting 16th in the division. They have a good opportunity to extend their form with a match against Sheffield Wednesday. Their standout attacker Ilias Chair has managed five goals and six assists this season and could punish a poor Sheffield Wednesday.
Forwards – Morgan Whittaker
Plymouth have a good opportunity to pick up a well needed three points this week as they face the worst defence in the league and a Rotherham team who have shipped an eye-watering 81 goals. One player who has potential this week is Morgan Whittaker who has amassed a huge 19 goals so far this season.
Georginio Rutter
Leeds are going to be hard to stop and Coventry haven’t shown much to suggest that they can shut the high flyers out. Another of their most reliable attacking assets is Georginio Rutter who has produced an impressive four assists in his last six matches. Rutter remains under the radar even after a huge 21 attacking returns already this season.
Differential Pick – Emmanuel Latte Lath
Swansea’ inconsistency and Middlesbrough’ recent form could mean backing one of their attackers a wise move this week. Emmanuel Latte Lath spearheads the Middlesbrough attack and with three goals in his last six, he stands out as their best attacking asset.
