Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 35

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 35. Our regular expert and GAFFR contributor @TomP_FF dives into the fixtures, underlying data and team and player form to pick out some of the best assets for the round ahead.

The Championship is entering the latter stages of the campaign and things are heating up. Taking a look at the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 35 with the help of our expert can help with decisions like transfers, captaincy and chip strategy, so let’s dive in.

Defenders – Ricardo Pereira

Leicester bounced back from their recent defeats in the league by beating Bournemouth in the FA Cup in midweek. They will take their defensive confidence into a match at home against strugglers QPR. The Foxes have also conceded the second least amount of goals this season so backing someone like Ricardo Pereira makes sense. Pereira has also managed three goals and three assists this season so has attacking threat.

Leif Davis

Ipswich look relentless again after securing a win in all of their last four matches. They come up against a Plymouth side who have failed to score in two of their last three matches. This could mean lots of potential for the impressive Leif Davis who has collected a mammoth 12 assists this season.

Differential Defender – Ryan Giles

Hull have built a very exciting side and their recent performances have seen them enter the play-offs. One player amongst their ranks is particularly exciting, mainly because we know what he is capable of as GAFFR managers. Giles is back on everyone’s radar after registering an assist in his last match and faces a meeting with Preston next up, so he could extend his form.

Midfielders – Crysencio Summerville

After a very slow start to their campaign Leeds are gaining some serious momentum. Their recent victory against first place Leicester was just one of six consecutive wins in all competitions. Crysencio Summerville looks to be back on the captaincy menu this week with a game against 19th place Huddersfield, a side who have also conceded a massive 55 goals this season already.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

The Foxes can no longer coast their way to a Championship title win due to the form of contenders Leeds and Ipswich. Their newly found motivation should be enough to spark a fire within again and the player to lead that charge could be Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall. Dewsbury-Hall has been one of the Foxes most reliable players this season and with a match against QPR ahead, he looks set for a big return to form.

Differential Midfielder – Tom Fellows

Fifth place West Brom are a different beast at home which is where they play this week. Prior to their loss against Southampton the Baggies won five home matches on the bounce. They will be hoping to bounce back at home and Tom Fellow could help them do it. Fellows appear to be becoming an important player for West Brom. Not only has he started three of their last four league matches but he has also managed two goals and one assist in his last five.

Forwards – Georginio Rutter

The Leeds frontline are in fantastic form ahead of their meeting against the poor Huddersfield. In fact, they have netted a huge 16 goals in their last five matches in all competitions. To benefit from their goals owning a Leeds attacker in addition to Summerville could be the play. One man who offers that is Georginio Rutter. Rutter appears rock-solid in terms of minutes but he has also entered a strong period of form – scoring two goals and producing four assists in his last five matches.

Conor Chaplin

Another side in top scoring form recently is Ipswich. They have racked up a cool 17 goals in their last six matches and with a meeting against a Plymouth side who have shipped 57 goals this season, that looks set to continue this week. One player who seems to be overcoming a recent slump is Conor Chaplin who has scored two goals in his last three matches.

Differential Forward – Ike Ugbo

Sheffield Wednesday are fighting for survival and their not doing a bad job of it lately. The promoted side have won two of their last three league matches. They also have a match against a Rotherham side who have lost all of their last six matches on the bounce. Sheffield Wednesday’ main man recently is Ike Ugbo who has scored an impressive five goals in his last four matches.
