Top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 27

Last modified date

The Championship campaign continues which means the fantasy game does too! Because of this we provide the top picks in each position for GAFFR Gameweek 27 with the help of our expert GAFFR manager @TomP_FF.

Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 27 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.

Top Picks – Defenders – Kyle Walker-Peters (£7.1m)

Southampton’ recent form has placed them just three point behind second place Ipswich. The Saints are at home this week against a poor Sheffield Wednesday and go into the match with three clean sheets in their last five matches. With that in mind Kyle Walker-Peters who is maintaining a rate of 1.2 key passes per game remains a brilliant option.

Leif Davis (£5.5m)

Ipswich remain in second place after a recent dip in form. That dip in form has also seen them keep two back-to-back clean sheets in the league. Ipswich play at home this week against Sunderland who have been showing some inconsistencies as of late. This could be a great opportunity for Leif Davis to add to his 68 chances created this season where he ranks fourth best in the league for that same metric.

Differential Defender Pick – Ryan Manning (£7m)

Southampton look likely to keep the clean sheet this week against Sheffield Wednesday, especially with their recent home record which is where they will play. It could be wise to go for another Southampton defender to actually benefit from a clean sheet and Manning could be your man. Manning has been playing at left-back recently and is sustaining close to two key passes per game this season.

Midfielders – Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£8.1m)

Leicester have been exceptional recently – winning eight and drawing two of their last 10 matches in all competitions. in that time they have also amassed a whopping 26 goals. One of the biggest reasons for that is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who has racked up eight goals and nine assists this season.

Crysencio Summerville (£9m)

After two losses on the bounce Leeds look like they are turning things around again after two back-to-back wins in the cup and league. They come up against Cardiff this week, a team who have conceded two goals or more in four of their last six matches. One player who is likely to take advantage of that is Crysencio Summerville who has collected a huge 12 goals and six assists already this season. Some may also consider giving him the armband this week.

Differential Midfielder Pick – Sorba Thomas (£6.1m)

Huddersfield aren’t usually a team we as managers would look to invest in but they face Plymouth this week. Plymouth have been woeful away from home this season which is where they play this week. In fact, the promoted side have conceded a huge two or more goals in all five of their last league matches. Sorba Thomas could take advantage of that this week who has notched up a mammoth 16 key passes, a goal and an assist in his last three league games.

Forwards – Morgan Whittaker (£6.5m)

Plymouth may be conceding lots of goals but they are also scoring plenty – with two or more goals in four of their last five games. They come up against Huddersfield this week a team who have shipped 11 goals in their last three in all competitions. Morgan Whittaker seems to be in a rich vein of form again after managing six goals and one assist in his last six matches.

Adam Armstrong (£10.2m)

The biggest contributor to the Southampton attack is of course Adam Armstrong who was rested in their recent cup match. He has also picked up a mammoth 10 attacking returns in his last 10 league matches. The match against Sheffield Wednesday is a brilliant opportunity to hand the most in-form player in the league the captaincy armband.

Differential Forward Pick – Che Adams (£10.8m)

Finding another route into the Southampton attack could be a wise move to gain rank. Che Adams could offer exactly that as he seems to be picking up some form recently – scoring three goals in his last four matches. He has the perfect fixture to continue that run and for those looking for a differential captain, Adams could be that as well.
