The Championship campaign continues which means the fantasy game does too! Because of this we provide the top picks in each position for GAFFR Gameweek 26 with the help of our expert GAFFR manager @TomP_FF.
Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 26 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.
Top Picks – Defenders – James Justin (£6.4m)
Leicester continue to fly at the top of the table and because of their recent form are now a huge eight points clear. The Foxes are also keeping clean sheets, two in their last three to be exact and come up a poor Huddersfield next up. The clean sheet looks on for Leicester this week and James Justin could be one to benefit. Justin also has attacking threat – scoring in his latest match against Cardiff.
Darnell Furlong (£6.1m)
It is about time we start to look at the West Brom defenders as a more permanent fixture within our teams. The Baggies have been excellent defensively this season and have managed a massive 12 clean sheets. West Brom have Swansea next up who have been hugely inconsistent as of late. With that in mind Darnell Furlong could be a great addition. Darnell ranks in the top five scoring GAFFR defenders so far and he also has attacking threat, as shown with his two goals and one assist so far.
Midfielders – Sammie Szmodics (£6.8m)
Blackburn are in a very poor run of form – losing all four of their last matches. But, they have a great opportunity to bounce back this week. They face Rotherham ahead who are rock bottom of the league and have conceded a whopping 48 goals already. The best player to target the backline is Sammie Szmodics who is having a brilliant season. In fact, Szmodics has already racked up a huge 15 goals and three assists. Some could even consider giving him an armband this week.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (£8.4m)
Our next pick should also be considered for captaincy. Leicester are top of the league and they are there for a reason. The Foxes continue to score lots of goals (between 2-4 in seven of their last 10 matches) which makes them extremely investable. Helping them achieve that is Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall who is the most consistent asset in the game. Not only does he face a club who have conceded 2-3 goals in three of their last five but he also has multiple routes to points.
Forwards – Adam Armstrong (£10.4m)
Southampton are in an excellent run of form – winning all four of their last matches whilst also netting a huge 12 goals. The Saints are now just three points behind Ipswich and come up against a Norwich side who have lost both of their last matches on the bounce. Leading the lethal attack is Adam Armstrong who has racked up a huge 10 attacking returns in his last 10 matches.
Aaron Connolly (£6m)
Hull have some tough fixtures coming up but before that they face 23rd place Sheffield Wednesday. The Tigers seem to be going under the radar as they sit sixth in the league. They have also netted at least two goals in four of their last five matches. One player to consider is Aaron Connolly who has scored three goals in his last four games.
