Looking through the top picks for GAFFR Gameweek 22 can be extremely useful for other managers within the Championship Fantasy community. Knowing who the best players to pick are will also help managers make decisions around transfers, captaincy and even chips.

Top Picks – Defenders – Ricardo Pereira (£6.6m)

Leicester will be hoping to continue their top form this week. They have a meeting with Birmingham next up, a team who have failed to score in two of their last three matches. Upon his return from suspension Ricardo Pereira came back with a bang – scoring and picking up bonus.

Leif Davis – £5.5m

Leif Davis has become an absolute essential in the game due to his relentless attacking form this campaign. Davis remains the highest scoring defender in the game and a match against Norwich is unlikely to change that. Davis has produced a massive nine assists in just 20 league games so far.

Midfielders – Jack Clarke – £9.4m

Clarke has been quiet recently in terms of output – scoring just once in his last seven matches. However, his side have been improving after their slight dip in form – winning the last two matches on the bounce. Clarke also has a great fixtures this week against a Bristol City side who have lost three of their last four matches. It is also worth remembering that he takes his sides penalties and has racked up 11 goal contributions in just 21 games so far.

Chris Willock – £7.1m

Sheffield Wednesday remain a team to target as they sit 23rd in the league and have shipped 2-4 goals in three of their last six matches. QPR have shown huge improvements all of over the pitch recently – winning three of their last four games and scoring six goals. Chris Willock seems to have found his shooting boots lately and netted in three of his last four games, along with an assist. The fixture is there for both Willock and QPR to extend their form.

Forwards – Adam Armstrong – £10.3m

Blackburn may seem like a tough game on paper for the Southampton attack but Rovers have been conceding goals recently – at least two in three of their last four matches. The Saints also play at home – a venue they have won all four of their last matches. Most of Adam Armstrong’ appeal comes from his own form. In fact, Armstrong has managed to return at least once in all of his last eight matches on the bounce which is incredible.

Conor Chaplin – £6.7m

Ipswich sit just one point behind Leicester in second place which is reflective of their fantastic campaign so far. One of the reasons for that is their relentless scoring rate – ranking first in the division for goals scored with 45. They play at home this week against Norwich, somewhere they are very strong in terms of form. In fact, Ipswich have won nine of their 10 home matches and averaged three goals scored per game. Conor Chaplin is one of their most potent attackers – netting eight goals and registering five assists in just 21 matches.
