Tino Livramento is out for eight-to-nine months with an ACL injury
Southampton right-back Tino Livramento required oxygen as he was stretchered off the pitch against Brighton. Unfortunately, it now looks like the 19-year-old has suffered a serious knee injury that will rule him out of this calendar year.
An innocuous challenge saw his leg twist in Sunday’s 2-2 draw. Livramento will undergo surgery once the swelling has subsided, bringing his excellent debut season to a premature end.
He has been an FPL revelation. Having begun the campaign with the lowest possible £4.0m price tag yet starting the Saints’ first 18 matches. At one point, he was in over two million FPL squads. Let’s hope this is just a minor setback in a promising career.
Deal almost agreed between Antonio Rudiger and Real Madrid
Following Chelsea’s 1-0 win over West Ham, head coach Thomas Tuchel confirmed that star centre-back Antonio Rudiger will leave Stamford Bridge upon his contract’s summer expiry. Recent sanctions placed on the club haven’t helped their pleas for Rudiger to stay but his head may already have been turned.
According to reports, Real Madrid has offered a lucrative four-year deal to the German international. A verbal agreement has been reached.
Combined with the expected free departure of Andreas Christensen to Barcelona, Chelsea will have to prioritise buying at least one centre-back this summer. As for FPL, Rudiger has often been the only certainty in the Blues’ back line. With this news, Tuchel could easily phase him out during the final matches.
