Reports that Saka and White are not training ahead of north London derby
With hours to go until tonight’s crucial north London derby, Connor Humm from Football 365 has placed doubt upon the statuses of Bukayo Saka and Ben White.
Winger Saka has picked up a few knocks of late, coming off during Sunday’s 2-1 win over Leeds. Meanwhile, defender White’s hamstring injury has kept him out of the last two matches.
It’s not known yet whether these training images are a part of some mind games but owners will certainly be concerned.
Man City defender Laporte could miss Gameweek 37
When Kevin De Bruyne casually nets four goals, perhaps defensive injuries aren’t a huge worry for Pep Guardiola. However, with Ruben Dias, John Stones and Kyle Walker already ruled out for the remaining matches, centre-back Aymeric Laporte limped off last night after a rough tackle from Wolves’ Raul Jimenez.
Talking about both Laporte and Fernandinho, Guardiola commented: “Apparently it doesn’t look good. Some muscular problems for Fernandinho and if it is something he will be difficult for Sunday. Aymeric had a tough knock on his knee. We will see how they recover on Sunday.”
West Ham linked with Ollie Watkins transfer
There is also a doubt over Ollie Watkins’ fitness for Double Gameweek 37, with head coach Steven Gerrard confirming “there might be a small injury” picked up in the defeat to Liverpool.
Regardless, the Daily Mail has linked the forward with a summer move to West Ham. It may seem a sideways move for Watkins but – if it ends up true – would damage both his and Michail Antonio’s FPL appeal for next season. It will be two good forwards competing for one spot.
