An overview of the season’s final FPL Gameweek, in terms of goals, assists, bonuses, team news and notable events.

GAMEWEEK 38

As is the norm in Gameweek 38, all 20 teams play in ten simultaneous matches. Almost everything was still to be decided on an exciting final day – the fourth Champions League place, the third relegation spot and the sole champions of England.

So here is a lowdown of the main action, from an FPL perspective.

SUNDAY

Arsenal 5-1 Everton

Martinelli penalty (no assist), Nketiah (Martinelli), Cedric (Saka), Gabriel (Cedric), Odegaard (Pepe) — van de Beek (Calvert-Lewin)

Bonus: Cedric (3), Martinelli (2), Odegaard (1)

Top Scorers: Cedric (14), Martinelli (12), Odegaard (8), Gabriel (8), Nketiah (6), van de Beek (6)

With the Toffees safe, Richarlison and Jordan Pickford weren’t involved at all but Anthony Gordon appeared briefly. Also, Ben White took a seat on Arsenal’s bench.

Brentford 1-2 Leeds

Canos (Wissa) — Raphinha penalty (no assist), Harrison (no assist)

Bonus: Harrison (3), Raphinha (2), Wissa (1), Phillips (1), Meslier (1), Sorensen (1)

Top Scorers: Harrison (10), Raphinha (9), Wissa (6)

Yellow card for Ivan Toney. Whereas a 16-minute Sergi Canos cameo produced both a goal and a red card.

Brighton 3-1 West Ham

Veltman (March), Gross (Welbeck), Welbeck (Gross) — Antonio (no assist)

Bonus: Gross (3), Welbeck (2), Antonio (1)

Top Scorers: Gross (13), Welbeck (11), Antonio (7), Veltman (8)

Burnley 1-2 Newcastle

Cornet (no assist) — Wilson penalty (no assist), Wilson (Saint-Maximin)

Bonus: Wilson (3), Cornet (2), Targett (1)

Top Scorers: Wilson (13), Cornet (9)

As a result, it’s relegation for Burnley after six Premier League seasons. Wout Weghorst began on the bench but appeared after the half-time break.

Chelsea 2-1 Watford

Havertz (Kenedy), Barkley (James) — Gosling (Masina)

Bonus: Rudiger (3), James (2), Barkley (1)

Top Scorers: Rudiger (9), James (7), Barkley (7), Havertz (7), Gosling (6)

There was a farewell appearance for Antonio Rudiger but no involvement from Marcos Alonso. For Watford, Ben Foster missed out due to injury.

Crystal Palace 1-0 Man United

Top Scorers: Guaita (10), Andersen (9), Zaha (9), Clyne (7), Mitchell (6), Ward (6)

No Cristiano Ronaldo for the visitors, while Jean-Phillipe Mateta was an unused Palace substitute. Booking for Bruno Fernandes.

Leicester 4-1 Southampton

Bonus: Matip (3), Mane (2), Robertson (1)

Top Scorers: Robertson (9), Mane (9), Matip (7), Salah (6), Neto (6)

Mo Salah came off the bench, due to Liverpool desperately seeking a winner. On the other hand, Virgil van Dijk remained on it. A Joel Matip yellow but maximum bonus points.

Man City 3-2 Aston Villa
