The best forwards since the restart

With the international break upon us, we look back and take a deep dive into the stats of the best forwards since the restart. With the help of the Fantasy Football Scout members area, we can find some of the top picks up front moving forward.

An important part of the season is approaching. With impending blank and double Gameweeks it could be vital to find the best forwards since the restart, and if the fixtures are good, we can target them for the latter stages of the campaign.

Fixtures

Below we can see teams in order of fixture difficulty from now until the end of the season. The teams at the top have the easiest fixtures whilst the teams at the bottom have the toughest fixtures. There is a scheduled double Gameweek in 29 and a blank Gameweek in 32.

What the fixture ticker does not show is that there is highly likely to be a big double Gameweek in 34 and 37. The teams that are likely to double in both of those Gameweeks include Brighton, Manchester City and Manchester United.

Non-penalty expected goal involvement comparison

Non-penalty expected goal involvement measures both expected goals and expected assists combined. Below we can see the best 10 strikers in the game since the restart.

Erling Haaland

Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (£12m) ranks above every other striker in the league for non-penalty expected goal involvement since the restart (7.99). Although he ranks 18th for expected assists (0.48), the Norwegian ranks first for expected goals (9.09).

Since the restart Haalaand has managed two assists and a whopping 10 goals, tallying to 12 goal contributions. Manchester City rank bottom on the fixture ticker. However they have the potential to double in Gameweek 34 and 37. Because of this, and if he’s fit, it could be a top priority to bring him back into our teams.

Ivan Toney

Brentford’s Ivan Toney (£7.9m) ranks third amongst all strikers for non-penalty expected goal involvement since the restart (6.72). He also ranks third for expected assists (1.45) whilst also ranking second for expected goals (6.84).

Since the restart Toney has managed to create two assists and score six goals. This tallies to eight returns. Brentford rank amongst the bottom six teams with the toughest fixtures. However they also double in Gameweek 29 and then face three good fixtures immediately after that.

Kai Havertz

Chelsea’s Kai Havertz (£7.6m) ranks fourth amongst all strikers for non-penalty expected goal involvement since the restart (6.57). The German international also ranks second for expected assists (1.62) whilst also ranking sixth for expected goals (5.74).

Since the restart Havertz has picked up just one assist and four goals, totalling five goal contributions. Chelsea rank fourth worst on the fixture ticker. The Blues do have a double Gameweek in the round ahead but do not have a fixture in blank Gameweek 32.

Harry Kane

Tottenham’s Harry Kane (£11.8m) ranks sixth amongst all strikers since the restart for non-penalty expected goal involvement (6.38). Kane also rank sixth for expected assists (0.99) whilst also ranking fourth for expected goals (6.18).

Since the restart Kane has provided just one assist and scored nine goals. This totals to 10 goal contributions. Tottenham rank around mid-table on the fixture ticker but they also do not have any double Gameweeks ahead. They do, however, have a fixture in blank Gameweek 32.

Ollie Watkins

Aston Villa striker Ollie Watkins (£7.5m) ranks seventh for non-penalty expected goal involvement since the restart (5.59). In the same period Watkins ranks outside the top 20 for expected assists (0.40) but ranks fifth for expected goals (5.98).

Since the restart Watkins has picked up two assists and scored seven goals, tallying to nine attacking returns. Aston Villa may rank eighth on the fixture ticker from now until the end of the season but they have a double Gameweek in 29 and four great fixtures immediately after that.
