Targeting the Fixtures in FPL

Last modified date

The International break is here which means, for now, Premier League football is on pause. This is a great opportunity to look at targeting the fixtures in FPL ahead. To do this we head over to the Fantasy Football Scout Members Area and utilise the fixture ticker.

Targeting the fixtures in FPL can be one of the best routes to success. Good fixtures usually mean an increase in productivity for players so planning around that in terms of transfers, captaincy and chips can propel you ahead of your rivals.

Manchester United

Topping the Fantasy Football Scout Fixture Ticker in terms of having the easiest fixtures from now until Gameweek 13 is Manchester United.

The Reds have started the season very poorly – winning just two of their first seven matches and sitting 14th in the table.

However, the period ahead could mean a turn of form for the strugglers. Of their next six fixtures Manchester United face four opponents that currently sit in the bottom eight, with three in the bottom six.

Everton

Another side who could benefit from good fixtures ahead after a poor start is Everton. Sitting 16th in the league the Toffees have won just one of their first seven matches, losing four during the same period.

What is interesting though is that their positive results have come recently – remining unbeaten in their last three games and banking all three points in their latest match.

In their next three games alone Sean Dyche’s men face two of the three promoted sides, Ipswich and Southampton. Matches against bottom half sides West Ham, Brentford and Manchester United closely follow.

Leicester

The Foxes may have won just one of their first seven matches this campaign, but they have also faced tough opposition. In fact, the promoted side have already come up against the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Fulham.

They too come off the back of a win in their most recent match – edging a good Bournemouth side 1-0. This could signal a change in form going into the period ahead.

Leicester, like Everton, also face both Ipswich and Southampton in their next three matches and with clashes against Brentford and Manchester United amongst that run, they could provide potential for investors.

Who else has good fixtures?

Also amongst the top six ranked sides according to the fixture ticker is Brentford, Ipswich, and Nottingham Forest. All three teams play at least one of the promoted sides, along with several other great fixtures.

Teams we shouldn’t rule out

Both Manchester City and Tottenham sit around mid-table on the ticker. Most of this is probably due to their two latter fixtures. But, prior to that they have four fantastic matches FPL managers could take advantage of.

Wolves could also be a consideration. After they face Manchester City in Gameweek 8 they come up against the likes of Southampton, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth.
