Some predicted FPL player prices for 2025/26

Are you already thinking of how to spread out your initial 2025/26 budget? Making a few, early FPL predicted player prices can be a huge help.

It’s not easy deciding whether to pick a flexible squad that covers all price points or go all-in on premium assets. For example, starting last season with both Mohamed Salah and Erling Haaland would have brought in six double-digit hauls by Gameweek 4 but, as the most expensive duo, many committed to only one of them.

Let’s take a fun guess at what some popular FPL players might cost ahead of Gameweek 1.

FPL PREDICTED PLAYER PRICES

GOALKEEPERS

  • Caoimhin Kelleher (Brentford) – £4.5m – began 24/25 at £4.5m
  • Jordan Pickford (Everton) – £5.0m – began 24/25 at £5.0m

Brentford quickly replaced Mark Flekken with Caoimhin Kelleher and, with the outlay possibly reaching £18 million, the Irish international should be the Bees’ first-choice stopper and a solid £4.5m option. Yet his appeal will depend on how they recover from losing Thomas Frank and key outfielders.

As for Jordan Pickford, a total of 158 points made him last season’s number one goalkeeper. But he’ll likely remain at £5.0m because his club continues to finish outside of the top 12.

DEFENDERS

  • Josko Gvardiol (Man City) – £6.5m – began 24/25 at £6.0m
  • Gabriel (Arsenal) – £6.0m – began 24/25 at £6.0m
  • Jeremie Frimpong (Liverpool) – £5.5m – new addition
  • Marc Cucurella (Chelsea) – £5.5m – began 24/25 at £5.0m
  • Daniel Munoz (Crystal Palace) – £5.5m – began 24/25 at £5.0m
  • Nikola Milenkovic (Nott’m Forest) – £5.0m – began 24/25 at £4.5m
  • Lewis Hall (Newcastle) – £5.0m – began 24/25 at £4.5m

The departure of Trent Alexander-Arnold should stop there being defenders in the £7.0m to £8.0m range. So it’d make sense if the most expensive became Josko Gvardiol instead – his position’s leading 2024/25 asset.

Marc Cucurella and Nikola Milenkovic joined the Croatian on five goals, while Daniel Munoz bettered all of them when it came to penalty area touches (112), shots on target (14) and expected goals (4.93).

New Liverpool signing Jeremie Frimpong could be a bargain if he’s classified as a defender. The 24-year-old’s latest three Bundesliga seasons have produced a whopping 22 goals and 22 assists.

Meanwhile, at Newcastle, Lewis Hall’s hugely popular winter spell was halted by a season-ending injury. We think it was enough to bring a small rise.

MIDFIELDERS

  • Mohamed Salah (Liverpool) – £14.5m – began 24/25 at £12.5m
  • Cole Palmer (Chelsea) – £10.0m – began 24/25 at £10.5m
  • Bukayo Saka (Arsenal) – £10.0m – began 24/25 at £10.0m
  • Bruno Fernandes (Man United) – £8.5m – began 24/25 at £8.5m
  • Bryan Mbeumo (Brentford) – £8.5m – began 24/25 at £7.0m
  • Jarrod Bowen (West Ham) – £8.0m – began 24/25 at £7.5m
  • Morgan Rogers (Aston Villa) – £7.0m – began 24/25 at £5.0m

Elsewhere, after a record-breaking FPL season, will Salah end up matching last year’s eye-opening £15.0m Haaland pricetag? Almost but not quite. Cole Palmer began the campaign brilliantly, but a late decline could bring a slight drop.

The future of Bryan Mbeumo should be decided before the game’s launch – a Brentford man likely to leave. 20 goals helped him become last season’s biggest price riser but, if the move to Man United materialises, initial uncertainty over penalty duties could negatively affect both him and Bruno Fernandes.

Jarrod Bowen’s late form racked up six goals and three assists in his final eight outings, whilst Morgan Rogers provided great value and was usually the cheap midfielder of choice.

FORWARDS

  • Erling Haaland (Man City) – £14.0m – began 24/25 at £15.0m
  • Alexander Isak (Newcastle) – £10.0m – began 24/25 at £8.5m
  • Chris Wood (Nott’m Forest) – £8.0m – began 24/25 at £6.0m
  • Matheus Cunha (Man United) – £8.0m – began 24/25 at £6.5m

Up front, there’s surely a drop coming for Haaland. His explosive start ended by Gameweek 5, came back in January, but non-owners weren’t feeling particularly threatened in later months.

Fellow Scandinavian Alexander Isak should join him in breaking the £10.0m barrier. Hopefully the late quietness will prevent a reckless overpricing.

Finally, Fantasy Football Scout raised the possibility of Matheus Cunha being reclassified as an FPL midfielder. Regardless, the former Wolves attacker will be a popular Gameweek 1 pick, taking into account Man United’s worldwide fanbase. He accumulated the fourth-most shots (110) but a mere seven were big chances.
