Notes

  • Bremer’s ACL tear will be a tough blow for most managers. He was arguably one of the best players in the game, and him being out will force managers to make decisions.
  • Are Juventus going to keep their defensive form without their best CB? It’s difficult to know, but in my opinion keeping one Juventus defender is not going to hurt anyone, as Thiago Motta’s football has been proven successful at keeping clean sheets even last season at Bologna.
  • Gatti and Kalulu will probably be the newest CB pair, and I will go with the Italian to replace Bremer, as his minutes should be slightly more secure and his goal threat on set pieces is much higher.
  • I never considered Cambiaso. I felt he could still be rotated like last week. I had other plans for this Round. But, in the end I will delay them to around Round 9-10. This gives me more time and we it should give me more information. I also want to have at least four transfers to navigate some fixture swings (Napoli’s in particular could be tricky).
  • I’m not sure on captaincy just yet. But, it’s likely going to be Kvaratskhelia.
  • Sommer starts after the failed Suzuki experiment.

Notes

  • For GW7, I don’t plan to make a transfers and keep things simple.
  • In terms of forwards, I am hoping Retegui is back starting and Dovbyk is finally showing why Roma wanted to buy him.
  • Midfield will be made up of Lookman, Yildiz, Pulisic and Kvardona, I have Soule on the bench and he’s definitely on the chopping block next week.
  • Captaincy this week will be on Kvaratskhelia after Bremer’s recent injury.

Notes

  • The team looks good on paper, despite some concerns regarding Retegui (who was benched again vs Shakhtar) and the lack of returns for (Thuram, Zaccagni and Bastoni).
  • The news of Bremer’s injury means I will make the straight swap from him to teammate Gatti.
  • My captain is most likely to be Giovanni Di Lorenzo, with the vice on Gatti.

Notes

  • The most important thing to mention is that Bremer was injured during his midweek clash against Leipzig in the Champions League. I’m not quite sure how bad it is just yet. But, if he is out long-term I think a straight swap to Gatti absolutely makes sense.
  • Prior to that injury I had three free injuries. My long-term plan was to restructure my squad around a double Juventus defence. Since that won’t be the case due to Bremer’s potential injury, I have more flexibility with transfers.
  • At the time of writing I’m happy with the majority of my team. Roma assets are a different story entirely though.
  • With that in mind I could use all free transfers this week. Juventus defensive investent I think is a must so I will prioritise that. The switch between Bremer and Gatti could free up enough budget to double up on the Atalanta attack. Atalanta have great fixtures, and although they rotate I think it could be high reward if it pays off. So I could upgrade Soule to Lookman and sell Mancini to bring in Rrahmani for Napoli’s next three fixtures.
  • An alternative plan could be to swap Bremer to Gatti and sell Soule for Udinese’s Thauvin who I would start in three of the next four matches. This would release budget to swap Mancini for Napoli’s Di Lorenzo who is expensive but could be worth the money.
  • Captaincy is interesting this week. If Bremer isn’t out then I will captain him. However, I’m slightly cautious about captaining Gatti as he’s just returned from injury. So, he may not even play the full match. Because of this I could end up captaining Di Lorenzo if he comes in. If not Rrahmani doesn’t feel like captaincy material. This could mean I end up captaining an attacker like Lautaro or Kvaratskhelia.
  • The above means that I won’t be starting Posch. I’ll also be benching Coco until his good fixtures come in the next several weeks.
  • Good luck guys!
