Serie A Fantasy Round 28 Top Picks
After a tough week where we saw heavyweight clashes the fixtures ease this week. There are some great fixtures to attack so we bring in our regular contributor @FPL_Crisk to reel off his Serie A Fantasy Round 28 Top Picks.
@FPL_Crisk has become one of the most respected and seasoned managers in the world. Because of this checking out his Serie A Fantasy Round 28 Top Picks could be extremely beneficial, not just for the round fixtures ahead but also for long-term planning.
Goalkeepers – Ivan Provedel (€6.6m – 17.7%)
It is going to be another tough week with very few guaranteed clean sheets. Lazio will benefit from playing at home against a Udinese side who struggled against bottom of the table Salernitana.
Lorenzo Montipò (€4.6m – 14.2%)
A solid defensive performance for Verona against Sassuolo. They will be hoping to replicate it against Lecce on Sunday. At this point in the season these kind of matches are very valuable for sides threatened by relegation, with only only points separating 18th place Verona and 13th place Lecce.
Defenders – Theo Hernandez (€7.0m – 53.6%)
He’s returning at a much lower rate than last season. But, with Tomori not ready for 90 minutes yet, he’s the safest Milan defender. Empoli have proved dangerous and capable of scoring. However, this is definitely the best defensive fixture for a top team this week.
Alessandro Buongiorno (€6.0m – 23.4%)
Last week I warned everyone. Buongiorno came back and delighted his owners with a double digit haul acting as an immovable object in Torino’s defence. He’s becoming a staple in most teams this season. I suggest getting back on his train sooner rather than later.
Midfielders – Albert Gudmundsson (€6.0m – 29.7%)
His form has dwindled since the start of the new year, but he remains the second highest scoring midfielder. Monza just conceded a lot against Roma, so this could be the right week for the Icelandic youngster to put in some much needed work.
Matías Soulé (€5.0m – 19.6%)
With Berardi now out for the rest of the season, Sassuolo really are in a tough spot, second to last and three points away from safety. Another do or die matchup between relegation candidates, which could see the teams stretching out and favouring fast players like Soulé to go crazy.
Forwards – Olivier Giroud (€9.0m – 35.9%)
Jovic is back from suspension, and with Europa league ties in two consecutive weeks Giroud is at extreme risk of rotation. I would suggest keeping an eye on Milan team news until the deadline, in either case if you own Giroud I would 100% play him.
Andrea Pinamonti (6.2m – 21.1%)
Berardi is out, and Sassuolo’s relegation hopes will mostly lie on his feet. He will now be the main penalty taker too, which should increase the amount of chances he gets.
