Serie A Fantasy Round 27 Top Picks

Last modified date

In this article take a look at the Serie A Fantasy Round 27 top picks. We bring in regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk to provide two of the best options in each position based on form, stats and other important factors for the round ahead.

Taking a look at the Serie A Fantasy Round 27 top picks could be crucial this week. As we come off the back of a massive double Gameweek we head into a round where a lot of the big teams come head-to-head.

Yann Sommer (€5.8m – 26.9%)

His double wasn’t the best as he was out with illness for the first game but he is now back. I’m afraid that having him in this list every week might be kind of repetitive but I can’t help myself. Inter are capable of keeping clean sheets even when rotating. Sommer is also the highest scoring player in the game and this Round is full of tough fixtures for the best defences.

Maduka Okoye (€4.4m – 0.2%)

At the start of the new year, Okoye took the starting goalkeeper spot from Silvestri, and has never lost it since. Udinese are at home against Salernitana, a team who have managed more than 1.0 xG only five times in the whole season. He is a solid backup keeper for those who are WCing after the double.

Defenders – Nehuen Perez (€4.2m – 5.6%)

Speaking of budget players from Udinese, Perez is also a good shout for this week. First of all, if you play Salernitana you are a great option by default. Second, and most important, Perez is actually a very good player. Not only was he close to being sold to Napoli for over 15m in January, but he’s fourth in Serie A for tackles/blocks/interceptions. In fact, he is just behind recognized names like Frendrup, Dossena and Buongiorno. Speaking of Buongiorno…

Alessandro Buongiorno (€6.0m – 23.4%)

Due to the lack of reliable defensive option this Round, I’m adding Buongiorno to the list as a reminder that he has come back to training with the group. The second highest scoring defender in the game is coming back very soon, most likely against Fiorentina in the upcoming round. I suggest keeping an eye on news around him. The same can be said for Domenico Berardi. The Sassuolo midfielder is on his way back, and has a small chance of featuring this weekend.

Midfielders – Rafael Leao (€11.2m – 66.7%)

He returned to score in Serie A during the weekend, and in great fashion. Not only that, he also looked extremely creative and in good form. This year the presence of Pulisic has caused Leao to assume a more supportive role for the team. This has resulted in seven assists, second in the league only to his teammate Giroud (eight).

Matias Soulé (€5.0m – 19.6%)

The Juve loanee has been quiet in the last few weeks but it’s understandable given the quality of the teams he has had to face. Lecce are a much easier opponent, especially at home. Frosinone have in fact gained 20 of their 23 points total at home, and only three away.

Forwards – Lautaro Martinez (€11.6m – 69.4%)

Well this was not unexpected, but I swear my second pick in attack will be an under the radar differential. We’re at a point in the season in which Lautaro and Sommer are almost default essential and are considered best picks each and every week, kind of like Haaland in FPL or Kane in BL Fantasy.

Mbaye Niang (€4.8m – nobody%)

This is probably the biggest differential of all time, in the sense that according to the game he’s owned by 0.0% of players, which likely means no-one (or 15 people at most) own the Empoli forward. Since joining the team at the end of January, he featured in three games and scored in each one. Empoli are in great form since they changed manager with their latest loss coming seven Rounds ago.
