Serie A Fantasy Round 24 Top Picks
The new season continues so we reveal the Serie A Fantasy Round 24 top picks. Regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk comes in to pick out two of the best players in each position for the new round.
It isn’t long before the new Round commences. So, knowing which players have the most potential could be hugely beneficial. It could also help with other parts of the game including captaincy, chip strategies and long-term transfer plans.
Goalkeepers – Yann Sommer (€7.4m – 19.3%)
It’s an early start to the Round on Thursday with Fiorentina hosting Inter, three days before the reverse fixture. Most managers will want two Inter players for the double, and their best defensive pick is Sommer. The Swiss goalie is guaranteed to play 90 minutes in both matches, while Dumfries (who would on paper be the second best pick) will only be able to play the first match as he’s suspended for the second one.
Ivan Provedel (€5.6m – 9.9%)
Monza weren’t a prolific team to begin with, ranking last for xG and second to last for actual goals scored, but after the end of the transfer window I feel like their attack got even worse. They lost Maldini to Atalanta, former goal scorer Djuric to Parma, while only gaining Ganvoula as their new forward (who wasn’t having a great season at Young Boys in the Swiss League). Lazio are facing them next, with the clean sheet odds at an all time high for the “bianco-celesti”.
Defenders – Robin Gosens (€5.6m – 19.1%)
Two fixtures against Inter are not going to be easy, but they are two fixtures nonetheless: even two half-clean sheets out of four can be enough for a double digit haul. Gosens has on his side two assists in his last two matches, but if you want a defender with safer minutes (sacrificing goal threat) I suggest going for Dodo.
Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.4m – 55.6%)
A mainstay in this series of articles. Napoli keep on doing very well and Di Lorenzo rarely gets less than five points even on his worst days. Napoli will be at home next against Udinese, a team who rank among the worst in the League in terms of xG.
Midfielders – Christian Pulisic (€9.2m – 64.2%)
Milan have been very active in the transfer window, acquiring players such as Santiago Gimenez, Joao Felix and Kyle Walker. Hopefully this is enough for them to bounce back and regain their form. Pulisic remains their best option, being on penalties and left-sided corners.
Charles De Ketelaere (€9.8m – 26.8%)
Atalanta’s attack has been kind of disappointing recently, but I would still back them against a poor side like Verona. The trip away from home is very short, I can see an explosive team like Atalanta bagging a few goals, with De Ketelaere who could be very important while Lookman is injured.
Forwards – Lautaro Martinez (€12.6m – 61.2%)
He is in incredible form: four returns for him in his last five Serie A matches, rewarding the managers who went for him on Wildcard instead of Thuram. It could have been more as he scored two offside goals against Milan (one wasn’t his fault). With the UCL Ro16 already in the bag for Inter, there are no doubts that rotation won’t be needed in this double, and Lautaro will have all the chances to be a top performer.
Moise Kean (€5.6m – 59.8%)
Kean has proven himself fixture proof this season, and I really think he his the only good offensive Fiorentina pick for the Double Round. His minutes are always pretty solid, so I feel like he could find a way to break Sommer’s clean sheet at least on one occasion.
