Serie A Fantasy Round 23 Top Picks

Round 22 saw wins for teams including Torino, Atalanta, Genoa, Monza, and Roma. We also saw Juventus drop points against Empoli whilst title rivals Inter edged a 1-0 win over Fiorentina. Now we look to our expert @FPL_Crisk as he provides us with the Serie A Fantasy Round 23 top picks.

Before we take a look at who makes the cut this week, we need to highlight how important this article could be for managers. Knowing who the Serie A Fantasy Round 23 top picks are could be hugely beneficial when it comes to mini-league position and overall rank. That is because it can help with things like transfers and captaincy.

Goalkeepers – Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (€6.0m – 14.2%)

Buongiorno’s injury might hurt Torino’s defence, but a home game against the team bottom of the league is always a good sign for points. I would still back the Torino backline to bring the clean sheet home.

Lukasz Skorupski (€5.0m – 16.0%)

After saving a penalty at the San Siro he now hosts Sassuolo in a mini-derby. The absence of Berardi will be highly beneficial too. There is a meme which states: “Scream if you love Poland”. Well let’s hope to hear cries of joy on Saturday night.

Defenders – Theo Hernandez (€7.0m – 51.3%)

Speaking of a penalty missed at San Siro, Theo had managed to fool Skorupski only to then see his shot denied by the post right in front of my eyes. This should be a small bump in the road for Milan’ train of a LB. I’m expecting him to bounce back sooner rather than later, with Frosinone barely able to get a draw in Verona.

Juan Jesus (€4.2m – 3.9%)

Di Lorenzo is in the top five defenders in the game right now, but he has often felt underwhelming due to his high price. With the Italian FB not getting enough attacking returns for his value, Juan Jesus can be a cheap safety net for those attracted by Napoli’s defensive improvement under Mazzarri.

Midfielders – Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€12.8m – 38.9%)

This spot on the list was supposed to be Gudmundsson’s, but I’m writing this during deadline day and there are rumours of Fiorentina trying their hardest to sign the Icelandic wonderkid. Because of that I prefer going with a safe option in Kvara. He has a home game against a side very close to relegation and fresh after serving a week of suspension.

Paulo Dybala (€12.0m – 15.2%)

Back to full fitness and back to greatness. He confirmed himself on penalties last week and can profit from Roma’s third great fixture in a row, hosting Cagliari. De Rossi’s more offensive 4-3-2-1 formation than Mourinho’s 3-5-2 can also help “la Joya” improve his numbers.

Forwards – Olivier Giroud (€8.8m – 34.0%)

The same discourse I made for Theo can also be made for Olivier Giroud. I expect him to still be on penalties, and the reverse fixture against Frosinone was a comfortable 3-0. Also, after losing against Milan, Frosinone only managed to get five points in eight games, not exactly an improvement from the 11 points in the eight games previous to that fixture.

Joshua Zirkzee (€5.2m – 30.0%)

Against Milan he had a very busy night: scored, handed the penalty to Orsolini (the more experienced pk taker in such a do-or-die scenario) and had three shots on target, the most in a single game for him in this Serie A campaign. Could a return to form be on the horizon?
