Serie A Fantasy Round 20 Top Picks
We look to our expert @FPL_Crisk as he provides us with the Serie A Fantasy Round 20 top picks. Round 19 saw wins for Milan, Monza, Juventus and Lazio. Current champions Napoli were also defeated in a 3-0 victory for Torino.
Before we take a look at who makes the cut this week, we need to highlight how important this article could be for managers. Knowing who the Serie A Fantasy Round 20 top picks are could be hugely beneficial when it comes to mini-league position and overall rank. That is because it can help with things like transfers and captaincy.
Top Picks – Goalkeepers – Pietro Terracciano (€5.2m – 5.4%)
Fiorentina seem to have improved their defensive ways in the last two months. They have conceded only three goals in the seven games following the last international break. Italiano have been experimenting with a back-three system. From this Terraciano has benefitted a lot, breaking in the top five goalkeepers in the game.
Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (€5.8m – 13.1%)
Torino just surprised everyone beating Napoli by three goals, without conceding. The defensive ability of Juric’s squad, despite Schuurs being out for the whole season, has never been in doubt. We can see that in the fact that Torino have players in second position in both goalkeeper and defender categories.
Defenders – Alessandro Buongiorno (€5.8m – 18.5%)
Speaking of Torino, Buongiorno was the star of what was a low-scoring Round for many of us. A mega-haul of 18 points has launched the young Italian CB just one point away of the chart leader Bremer. With Genoa probably being weakened by the sale of Dragusin to Spurs, it’s easy to see why Torino assets look good for this Round. Although, Gudmundsson remains a very real threat to the clean sheet.
Riccardo Calafiori (€4.6m – 0.8%)
Differential, high scoring and coming from a great defence. Bologna played the Italian Cup QF on Tuesday. That ended in a 0-0 against Fiorentina (lost after penalties). Calafiori was rested for the best part of the game, so I expect him to be the most nailed player from Bologna against Cagliari.
Midfielders – Hakan Çalhanoğlu (€8.4m – 10.0%)
The top scoring midfielder is actually a bit of a differential pick. In fact, I think I never actually included him in this kind of list. This isn’t because of my well-known hatred towards the guy, but mostly because I always felt his returns depend too much on set pieces (which are hard to predict). We’re at a point we can’t ignore his consistency any longer. He faces a weakened Monza (who just gave away their fourth pen of the season) might be a favourable game for his owners.
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia (€12.8m – 38.2%)
Napoli are not performing very good to say the least (it’s actually the worst title defence after the first set of games in Serie A history). But, even then I can’t ignore a player of the calibre of Kvaratskhelia against what is the worst team in the entire league.
Dusan Vlahovic (€9.4m – 29.5%)
With two goals and two assists in the last three Serie A games, the Serbian striker might be recovering his goalscoring form. Despite a clean-sheet against Fiorentina, Sassuolo have been conceding a lot this season. The strong 1-4 result in September in favour of Berardi’s side wouldn’t stop me from considering Vlahovic, especially since he’s playing during the blank round next week.
Lautaro Martinez (€11.4m – 61.5%)
He’s back, and better than ever. He immediately scored on his return against Verona, and now goes on to face a Monza side who lack their star-goalkeeper Di Gregorio. Non owners who are waiting for the blank to pass on before jumping back on him (myself included) will need a massive couch to hide behind this Saturday.
