Serie A Fantasy Round 13 Top Picks

Last modified date

The new season continues so we reveal the Serie A Fantasy Round 13 top picks. Regular contributor and Serie A expert @FPL_Crisk comes in to pick out two of the best players in each position for the new round.

It isn’t long before the new Gameweek commences. So, knowing which players have the most potential could be hugely beneficial. Getting off to a good start in every fantasy game is important for both rank and mini-league position.

Goalkeepers – David De Gea (€5.2m – 29.5%)

David De Gea Fiorentina

Fiorentina are keeping up their great run of form early on, they now rank second in Serie A as a result. Between the sticks for them is David De Gea who is averaging the highest pts/match between the league goalkeepers. Como, his upcoming opposition, on the other hand, have slowed down after a series of good results, now look less threatening.

Vanja Milinkovic-Savic (€6.4m – 20.3%)

Savic Torino

Torino are not in great form to say the least, mostly due to a series of injuries in midfield and attack. However, with Monza at home next, I would feel very foolish not to include them amongst the best defensive teams to target, especially as they face Monza, the lowest xG team in Serie A.

Defenders – Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.2m – 45.5%)

Giovanni Di Lorenzo Napoli

Roma have just sacked their second manager within three months, but with Ranieri coming out of retirement, I don’t see them improving. Ranieri not striking as the most attacking coach leads me to believe that Conte’s defence will eat Roma alive, leading to a clean sheet for Di Lorenzo.

Nadir Zortea (€4.0m – 1.5%)

This is the definition of a punt. I think my next pick will either completely blank or bag a nice haul. He almost never gets 90 minutes, but also tends to be used out of position at RW more often than not, and with Genoa next, hopefully he repeats the good performance he had vs Milan.

Ademola Lookman (€9.6m – 52.1%)

Ademola Lookman

Parma seem like the perfect opponents for Lookman, as they strike me as a team who suffer from fast paced players like him. I would just be careful for team news, as Lookman suffered a knock last Friday (although he should be fine for the weekend).

Gaetano Oristanio (€4.6m – 0.5%)

Gaetano Oristanio

Venezia are bottom of the table, but only three points away from 12th place Roma. They have shown promise and a strong character despite their place in the league, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they overcome Lecce (18th) in their next home fixture. Oristanio and Nicolussi Caviglia (4.4m) are two pretty offensive midfielders able to find returns from time to time. They would be my one week punt for this Round.

Forwards – Lautaro Martinez (€12.4m – 58.0%)

Lautaro Martinez

In the last five Rounds he outscored Thuram, who had a much better start of the season. He also scored in the international break, showing his good form might be returning after all. Against a leaky Verona side, one Inter attacker has to be a must.

Mateo Retegui (€6.8m – 63.9%)

Keeping up with the best defender in the game as a striker is an impressive feat. To do it while under-priced is even better. I do not think Retegui will keep up this rate until the end of the season, so I would profit from his amazing form for as long as I can.
