- The weekend wasn’t good to my team, with Yildiz and Soule benched, while Nunez and Berardi got injured, so I will need to address that as soon as I get more specific info on their condition.
- Since I think Berardi “only” suffered a massive knock, I expect him to be back sooner rather than later, so I will move out Nunez into a high scoring cheap defender like Terracciano.
- If Berardi doesn’t recover in time, I will only have four time-slots for captaincy, which will be Di Lorenzo, Pavlovic, Soule and Orsolini/Terracciano.

- GW8 was another disappointing round, with my team only scoring 51 points.
- With Domenico Berardi going off against Roma, I will almost certainly be forced into another reactive transfer ahead of the midweek fixtures – the story of my season so far.
- Having prioritised bringing in Gianluca Mancini for GW8, Luka Modrić will almost certainly come into my team this week in place of the injured Berardi.
- I may also take a hit for Christian Pulisic, particularly with the likes of Kenan Yıldız and Keinan Davis seeing rotation of late.
- The first captaincy of the round will go to Modrić, followed by Nico Paz and Riccardo Orsolini.

- The deadline this week comes thick and fast, so there isn’t much time to think about potential moves.
- If I had all the players available, my transfer out would have been Davis, as his minutes looked really poor in the last GWs. Despite scoring on the weekend, he is someone I want to move out. However, on Sunday afternoon, Nunez and Berardi came off with injuries, so they are a bigger priority.
- At the time of writing this, we don’t know the severity of the injuries, but at least one of them will be out of my team this GW, maybe even both for a -5.
- As for players I am looking to buy, in defence, I like Bastoni, a Lazio defender like Gila or Romagnoli and Coco from Torino. In the midfield, it is a bit more complicated with De Bruyne’s injury. Dimarco is an option, but I am worried about rotation, so the other players I am looking at are McTominay, Anguissa, Saelemaerkers and Zaccagni.

- Gameweek 8 was truly diabolical, not only did I have a poor round overall, but I also managed two player injuries which isn’t ideal.
- After checking news, I think Berardi will be fine, so I may not have to do anything there.
- As tempting as it is to move KDB to McTominay, and I have the cash to do it, it would rule out future upgrades in my forward line.
- I think the safest thing to do would be to bring in Modric who continues to deliver a solid rate of points. Ideally I want to focus on my frontline, so the quicker I can fix the other stuff the better.
