Notes
- For my second GW, the choice was very easy: Cambiaso got sent off against Parma, resulting in him missing the next few games. Since I want to have as many players available as possible, I had to sell him out immediately, with a horizontal move towards Bremer (the first GW’s indication is that CBs are very good).
- As always, players with later matches go on the bench in order to sub in for the worst performers.
- Captaincy goes to Berardi first (early kick-off Friday at 17:30 GMT), then Pulisic, Scamacca, Di Lorenzo and Bremer.
- The first GW was kind of average, hopefully we bounce back.

Notes
- The opening round was a success as I surpassed 100 points. While most of my attackers underperformed – only two of eight recorded offensive returns – my defence stepped up, with three players scoring in double figures.
- Bastoni’s performance was a real heartbreaker. I had him since the first draft, but on the final day I swapped him for Acerbi to strengthen my midfield and attack. The move let me bring in Yildiz, but in the end it turned out to be a bittersweet trade.
- I’ve set my team with a robust defence and a plan to save my transfer for Gameweek 2, targeting upgrades in midfield and attack. I also think it’s key to head into Gameweek 3 with two free transfers, since it comes right after the transfer window closes and the international break – perfect for fixing any surprises.
- Unfortunately, Kossounou, who was expected to start, ended up on the bench. I’ll be keeping a close eye on Atalanta’s predicted line-ups, If there’s a chance he’ll play, I’ll roll the transfer. But if he’s not first choice, I’ll likely move him on for another Atalanta defender, since they’ve got a favourable run over the next three matches.
- My captains will be Berardi, Pulisic, Scamacca, Lucca/Rrahmani, Bremer, and finally Acerbi. The more I switch the armband, the more I’m leaning toward defenders. They’ve proven to be the most reliable options in this game.

Notes
- It felt like we learned a lot last week: defenders are king, McTominay could be a great all-round asset this season, and even which players are going to start. However, it’s still incredibly early, so making moves or playing a Wildcard feels a bit rash.
- Yes there are players I want to sell. Kossounou didn’t start for Atalanta and Cremonese’ Sanabria featured late on. There are also rumours of Pulisic not being ready.
- Pulisic costs a lot, so if he isn’t fit I may trade him in, for maybe McTominay. I could even go super cheap and maybe look to pump money into defence further down the line.
- I may just start Kossounou and hope he starts. If Atalanta don’t start him again then he’s gone, maybe for teammate Hien who is reasonably priced.
- Ideally I want to roll this week and have two free transfers next week.
- I’ll captain Berardi in the first game, then it’s a case of jumping from player to player.
