Introduction
Welcome to my GW9 Team reveal for Serie A Fantasy. Here I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.
Looking at GW8 first, I ended up with 82 points with a GW average being 59 and a respectable GW rank of 926. Overall I am hovering around the top 550 mark currently occupying the 541st spot.
Players like Lukaku, Osimhen, Colpani, and Danilo all did well getting double-digit points. My captain Berardi also didn’t disappoint getting eight points.
Now after almost two weeks of no domestic football, we get going again in GW9 with a heap of injuries to popular assets like Danilo, Osimhen, and Koopmeiners to name a few.
Team reveal for Round 9 (subject to change)
Goalkeeper
- Stefano Turati (€4.0m) – One of the best cheap enablers this season has been Frosinone GK Turati who has done well in the first eight games in Serie A. Turati has the most saves from open play among all GKs in Serie A at the moment with 32 which comes out to be on average four saves per game. With my other GK Montipo playing Napoli at home I think I will be starting Turati. He will be in goal vs Bologna in GW9.
Defenders
- Federico Dimarco (€6m) – Dimarco starts in defence for me after his mediocre showing in GW8. There he was substituted around the 55th minute after Inter conceded twice to a resurgent Bologna at the San Siro. Dimarco will be looking to get back to form again when Inter play away at Torino in GW9.
- Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.4m) – Similar to Dimarco, Di Lorenzo had quite an off day as well in GW9. There Napoli unexpectedly lost to Fiorentina at home and he came away with zero fantasy points. Di Lorenzo has a great record against Verona and even without the injured Osimhen, I can see Di Lorenzo getting a decent fantasy score.
- Diego Llorente (€4.6m) – My third and final defender for GW9 is going to be Llorente from Roma. He is already back in training and should be fit to start vs Monza at home. Mourinho really will hope Llorente is fit and raring to go as Roma are quite clearly short in defence with injuries to Smalling and Kumbulla.
Midfielders
- Dominico Berardi (€10.4m) – Berardi was again among the goals in GW8. He dispatched a penalty to get eight points for that week and now has five goals and one assist in just six starts. He looks set to continue his recent good form when Sassuolo battle Lazio who look out of sorts in GW8. He is currently tied for first place with Bonaventura on 61 points for the most points for a midfielder in Serie A Fantasy which shows his consistency.
- Cyril Ngonge (€4.6m) – Due to several injuries to key fantasy assets, I will be playing three cheap enablers this GW. Ngonge is one of them who has had a decent start to life at Hellas Verona with two goals in eight games playing an advanced CAM role. Verona will be welcoming the current Serie A champions, Napoli.
- Andrea Colpani (€4.8m) – My second cheap enabler is Colpani. At just a 5m price he already has four goals in eight starts in a good Monza team. I expect him to carry on his form in the coming GWs.
- Giacomo Bonaventura (€6.2m) – He has been quite the revelation this season for Fiorentina. Boaventure has been playing a box-to-box CM role having the license to get into the box which has contributed to him already scoring four goals and two assists in just eight starts. Italian national team manager Spalleti even called in the “Italian Bellingham” in his latest press conference which shows the season Bonaventura is having. Fiorentina plays Empoli at home in GW9 and I expect a good return from him.
- Morten Frendrup (€4.4m) – My third cheap enabler is Frendrup. He is quietly going about his business at least from a fantasy perspective. He has racked up 44 TBI in just eight games which is the highest in the league. It also gives owners the assurance that no matter what he can always get anywhere between 4-5 points every GW. He will be up against Atalanta in GW9 and I expect him to get a decent score again.
Forwards
- Romelu Lukaku (€9m) – Lukaku now has five goals in five starts for Roma. The Belgian looks set to take the role of talisman for the side from the Italian capital. This is because Dybala looks set to spend some time injured on the side-lines. Lukaku also has penalties as well in his locker and he is slowly discovering his form which is good for fantasy managers who own him. Roma will play Monza at home in GW9 and Lukaku is a great captaincy shout too.
- Lautaro Martinez (€11m) – I am still salty that I benched Martinez in GW7 for his 23- point haul. Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A. That is because he has 10 goals and one assist in just eight games for Inter. Inter will play Torino in GW9 and I can again see Martinez showing up and scoring.
Captaincy
At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Lukaku for reasons I have mentioned above. However, Dominico Berardi and Lautaro Martinez are also in the running for captaincy.
As per usual, I will try and let everyone know on Twitter before the deadline so make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick
That’s it for my GW9 Team reveal. See you in GW10. Until then best of luck for GW9 in Serie A Fantasy, may all your arrows be green.
