Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 3

Italian football is back for another round which means the fantasy football game is too! Get ready as we take a look at a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 3 provided by regular @FplRossoneriHe also shares his general thoughts around captaincy.

Checking out an expert team reveal for Round 3 can be extremely beneficial for other fantasy managers. Twitter is full of some of the most experienced fantasy managers around so catching up with their plans could help bring clarity within our own teams.

Introduction

Welcome to my expert team reveal for Round 3 Serie A Fantasy, here I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming Gameweek. But before that, let’s look back at Round 2 where I scored 63 points in a GW that averaged 70 points overall. It was a bit underwhelming in the end and we move on with two free transfers.

My captain was Osimhen who scored 16 points, it was between him and Immobile, glad I didn’t go with the latter who flopped at home to Genoa. Disappointments this week were Immobile and Kristensen, In hindsight, Roma’s defence doesn’t look as solid as last season.

For GW3 I have two free transfers and I am looking at moving on Immobile and El Shaarawy who
was a one week punt in the absence of Dybala.

Round 3 team reveal

Goalkeepers

  • Vanja Milenkovic-Savic (€5m) – Vanja had a poor showing vs. Milan where he was unable to save two pens and conceded four goals ending the GW on a grand total of -1. However, Torino have some decent fixtures and he starts between the sticks for me in GW3 where Torino play Genoa at home.

Defenders

  • Danilo (€6.4m) – Danilo starts for me in defence as Juventus takes on an out-of-sorts Empoli side who lost to Monza in GW2. I expect a decent return in this game after Juve conceded a goal and could only draw their GW2 game vs. Bologna.
  • Matteo Darmian (€4.8m) – Darmian and Inter look as solid as ever and kept yet another clean sheet in GW2 where they dispatched Cagliari without much hassle. Darmian finished the GW with 10 points as he stayed on the pitch this time for the full 90 mins. Fiorentina will be a stern test for Inter but Darmian still starts for me in GW3. Another side note here is Benjamin Pavard is on his way to sign for Inter as we speak and that could end up affecting Darmian’s minutes, something I will monitor in the coming weeks.
  • Nicolo Casale (€4.6m) – He was a disappointment yet again in GW2 as Lazio lost again to Lecce this time around and sit plum 18th on the league table and now have to face the current Scudetto holders Napoli away from home. I don’t expect much but I would rather play him than Kristensen who plays Milan.

Midfielders

  • Rafael Leao (€11.0m) – Leao showed in GW2 why he has been Milan’s Talisman for the last couple of years giving a brilliant assist to Theo Hernandez and earning the second penalty for Giroud to put away. He looks in great form already and he starts for me in midfield vs Roma who have shown several vulnerabilities especially on the left side of defence where Leao plays.
  • Teun Koopmeiners (€7.0m) – Koopmeiners got five points again in GW2 with two shots on target this time. He at least played further up the field this time as Edersen replaced Pasalic. He stays in the team for now as I have other fires to put out first, Atalanta play Monza at home in GW3 and I can only hope now that he gets involved in the attacking side of things.
  • Gabriel Strefezza (€5.4m) – I will again be starting Strefezza in GW3 vs. Salernitana as he continues to play out of position ST. He has taken up good positions in the first two games and I can only hope that against a Salernitana side he can finally come good.
  • Antonio Candreva (€7m) – my shiny new toy in midfield is going to Candreva who comes in for El Shaarawy, he is part of my two transfer plan for GW3. Candreva has looked in blistering form and rolling back the years scoring two mental goals vs Roma in GW1 and then providing the assist for Dia in GW2, he starts for me in GW3 as Salernitana takes on Lecce.

Forwards

  • Victor Osimhen (€12m) – My captain for GW2 did not disappoint again as he ended with another goal which could have easily been a brace or even more. Napoli again looked solid and like a team who were continuing their form from last season Kvaradona came on in the second half and provided the assist for the second goal, they play a hapless Lazio at home in GW3.
  • Lautaro Martinez (€11m) – Lautaro showed his class again in GW2 bagging another goal vs. Cagliari to firmly establish himself as Inter’s undisputed talisman. He seems like he is hungry to have a great goal-scoring season, and if the last two GWs are any indication it will be a catfight between him and Osimhen for the Cappocannoniere this season.
  • Dusan Vlahovic (€9m) – My second transfer comes in the forward line-up where I have already dumped Immobile as Lazio are not looking good and Dusan Vlahovic comes into the team at Immobile’s expense. Vlahovic and Juventus started the new season as they want to prove themselves to the world. Vlahovic is thriving in this new 352 system playing up top alongside his good friend Chiesa. He already has two goals in two games and looks fit and sharp to help Juventus with goals this season. Juventus play away to Empoli in GW3 and I can see him getting on the scoresheet again.

Captaincy

At the moment of writing this article, my captaincy is on Lautaro Martinez but Dusan Vlahovic is also in the running as I think he can perform well against Empoli, Leao has an outside shout as well depending on how I feel closer to the deadline.

As per usual, I will try and let everyone know on Twitter before the deadline so make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick.
