Introduction
Welcome back to my Serie A Fantasy Expert Team Reveal for Round 25. Here, I pen down my thoughts about the team and my transfer plans. I also cover my captain for each upcoming GW.
Now, back to the article. Looking at GW24 first, I again got 85 points with a GW average of 63 points. It was yet another small green arrow that took me from 230th to 190th worldwide and now 2nd in Germany after GW24.
The star of the GW for me was my transfer in last week – Stefan Posch who ended up with 20 points in DGW24. Regrettably I did not own Riccardo Orsolini who scored three goals and finished the DGW with 28 points, yes it hurts.
We will have a normal GW this week before the biggest DGW of the season in GW26. As for GW25 Milan, Napoli, Roma and Juventus all have great fixtures.
Round 25 Team Reveal (subject to change)
Goalkeeper
- Yann Sommer (€5.8m) – Sommer is back in goal after getting five points in Inter’ 4-2 win over Roma in GW24. Sommer has been by far the most reliable GK in Serie A this season both in terms of security of starts and source of consistent points. He currently sits atop the list of GKs with the most points after GW24 with 10 double-digit hauls to boast in just 24 GWs. Inter have a great fixture on paper as they play Salernitana at home in GW25. Because of this I fully expect Sommer to get a good haul of points.
Defenders
- Danilo (€6.6m) – My first defender in GW25 will be Danilo from Juventus who is back from suspension in GW24. He has averaged almost 8.4 points per GW after his return from a long-term injury in GW15. With Bremer suspended in GW25, Danilo will be even more important to the Juventus backline. Juventus are set to play Verona away from home and they would really want to shut up shop and win no matter what if they really want to pursue Inter in the Scudetto race.
- Stefan Posch (€4.8m) – My second defender will be Stefan Posch who was one of the transfer-ins last week given he had a double GW. He did not disappoint getting 20 points. Posch showed some of his form from last season grabbing an assist and keeping two CS in DGW24. Bologna do have a tougher fixture away to Lazio in GW25. But, I expect it to be a close-fought affair and Posch can easily get an attacking return.
- Lucas Martinez Quarta (€5.6m) – Another player I bought in the last GW with this Double GW in mind was Quarta. The centre-back ended up scoring in the first game of the DGW but then got a yellow card and got suspended for the second game. I am not worried about his xMins given he has played the most out of all of the Fiorentina defenders. He now has four goals to his name and has been one of Fiorentina’s mainstays. Fiorentina will play Empoli in GW25 and I do expect points from Quarta.
- Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7m) – Last but not least, Di Lorenzo will be my fourth defender in GW25. Both Di Lorenzo and Napoli have dropped off a cliff in terms of performance. Napoli have only managed to keep six clean sheets in 24 games. Di Lorenzo last season was a revelation at RB with goals and assists helping Napoli to the Scudetto. He will have to bring back some of that form to remain in our team long-term. Napoli will play Genoa at home and it could be a good fixture for Di Lorenzo to get some good points.
Midfielders
- Paulo Dybala (€12.2m) – Even though he did not have a goal contribution, Dybala again looked sharp in Roma’ loss to Inter. With him in that creative CAM role, Roma look like an entirely different team every time. His creative prowess have been on display whenever he starts and Lukaku also becomes a better asset because of Dybala. Roma will need him to fire again if they want to stand a chance to try and get into the European places for next season. Roma will play Frosinone and I would back Dybala to have a great impact on the game.
- Albert Gudmundsson (€6m) – Gudmundsson has been one of the league’s revelations this year with nine goals and two assists in just 24 games for Genoa. He has transitioned from a CAM/LW to an ST role this year and he has embraced the role. He sits second now in the most points list for midfielders in Serie A Fantasy and at just 6M, he is an absolute bargain. Genoa will be playing Napoli away from home and even though it is a tough fixture on paper, given Napoli’s recent form I would not be surprised if Gudmundsson and company get something out of the game.
- Nico Gonzalez (€6.4m) – One of the most annoying (from a fantasy perspective) yet talented players is Nico Gonzalez from Fiorentina. The Argentinian has sometimes been the bane of my existence given how unpredictable his output is. Also to blame is the manager Italiano who keeps rotating him. But he came good (sort of) in DGW24 where he scored 12 points. On his day Gonzalez can be one of the best players in Serie A and that is what I am hoping to see yet again in GW25. He has seven goals and one assist in just 1105 mins of action.
Forwards
- Oliver Giroud (€9m) – My first playing forward for GW25 will be Oliver Giroud. He has been great for me since I transferred him in in GW17. Giroud now has 11 goals and eight assists in 23 starts for Milan sharing the Talisman duties with Leao. He will want to get on the score sheet yet again in GW25 when Milan faces Monza away from home.
- Lautaro Martinez (€11.6m) – Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A given he has 19 goals and two assists in just 24 games for Inter. Even though he has failed to score in his last two Serie A games, I do expect him to be back in his scoring form when Inter play Salernitana at home in GW25. He was also my transfer this week. I said goodbye to Joshua Zirkzee who ended up being a disappointment in DGW24.
- Romelu Lukaku (€9.2m) – Lukaku now has nine goals and one assist in 20 starts for Roma and is sharing the role of talisman with Paulo Dybala. He has not scored in the last three games in Serie A but scored yesterday in the Europa League. I do expect him to be back to his goal-scoring self in GW25. Roma will play Frosinone in GW25 and Lukaku will look to make his mark.
Captaincy
- Captaincy – At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Lautaro Martinez for reasons I have mentioned above. Dybala and Danilo are also in the running for captaincy as things stand.
