Serie A Fantasy Expert Team Reveal for Round 22

Get ready for the new fixtures as we take a look at a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 22 provided by regular @FplRossoneriHe shares his thoughts around captaincy, transfers and the rationale behind each player in his starting XI.

Checking out a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 22 can be extremely beneficial for other fantasy managers. Twitter is full of some of the most experienced fantasy managers around so catching up with their plans could help bring clarity within our own team.

Introduction

Welcome back to my Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 22. Here, I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.

Now, back to the article. Looking at GW21 first, I got 72(-5) points with a GW average of 37 points. I also had a GW rank of 1320. It was a small green arrow again that took me from 554th to 459th worldwide and still 4th in Germany after GW21.

The stars of the GW for me were the Juventus defensive double-up of Bremer and Danilo who combined scored 29 points.

Looking at the fixtures in GW22, the teams to target are Juventus, Milan and Roma.

My plan is ideally to now save transfers for the first double GW of the season in GW 24.

Round 22 Team Reveal (subject to change)

Goalkeeper

  • Yann Sommer (€5.6m) – Sommer is back in goal after not playing in GW21. Sommer has been by far the most reliable GK in Serie A this season both in terms of security of starts and source of consistent points. He currently sits atop the list of GKs with the most points after GW16. He also has 12 double-digit hauls to boast in just 21 GWs.

Defenders

  • Theo Hernandez (€7.2m) – My first defender for GW21 will be Theo Hernandez from AC Milan. He is in my eyes the best LB in the world. He scored four points in GW21 but I expect normal points service again. It looks like will again play as LB with Gabbia’s return to Milan. Milan will be playing Bologna at home in GW22 and I expect another good showing from Theo.
  • Gleison Bremer (€6m) – My second defender in GW22 will be Bremer from Juventus who I transferred in a few GWs ago and he has not disappointed. He currently sits at the top of the defenders list with the most points for defenders. With Danilo in the line-up again, it has further strengthened the Juventus defence and increased the potential for many clean sheets. Juventus have Empoli at home in GW21. With a goal in GW21 and an 18-pointer GW, Bremer is a crucial cog in my Serie A Fantasy wheel.
  • Danilo (€6.6m) – My third defender in GW22 will be Danilo from Juventus who is back fully fit after a long injury layoff. When he is on the pitch he is the mainstay in the Juventus backline along with Bremer contributing not just via defensive actions but getting some goal contributions in the process. He did exactly that in GW19 where he provided the assist for Vlahovic’s winner. I like the double-up in the Juventus defence yet again and hope they can provide a lot of fantasy points moving forward. Like Bremer, Juventus have Leece away from home in GW22 and do expect some good points.
  • Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.2m) – Both Di Lorenzo and Napoli have dropped off a cliff in terms of performance. Napoli have only managed to keep five clean sheets in 21 games. Di Lorenzo last season was a revelation at RB with goals and assists helping Napoli to the Scudetto. He will have to bring back some of that form to remain in our team long-term. Napoli play Lazio away from home and it could easily end up 0-0 given how close these teams are.

Midfielders

  • Paulo Dybala (€11m) – Even though Dybala came of injured at HT in GW21, it was not too bad and he could be back playing as early as GW22. With him in that creative CAM role, Roma look like an entirely different team every time. His creative prowess have been on display whenever he starts and Lukaku also becomes a better asset because of Dybala. I will be following the injury news in Serie A and if it gets confirmed that Dybala is back, he will probably be in the midfield.
  • Andrea Colpani (€5.2m) – My cheap enabler is Colpani for this GW when Monza play Sassuolo. At just a 5.2m he already has six goals and one assists in 21 starts in a good Monza team who have had to face the likes of Juventus, Napoli, Milan, and Inter in the last few GWs. Even though he has not scored in nine GWs, he has a great record at home. Colpani is easily Monza’s best-attacking player I and expect he has a good time against one of Serie A’s leakiest defences.
  • Albert Gudmundsson (€6m) – One of my FTs last GW Gudmundsson made an instant impact by getting a goal in GW21 vs Salernitana. Gudmundsson has been one of the league’s revelations this year with nine goals and two assists in just 20 games for Genoa. He has transitioned from a CAM/LW to an ST role this year because of Retegui’s injury problems and he has embraced the role. He sits second now in the most points list for midfielders in Serie A Fantasy. At just 6M, he is an absolute bargain.
  • Domenico Berardi (€10.8m) – Berardi ended up playing no minutes in BGW21. Berardi will again be one of my midfield players for GW22. I have a good feeling he will again look to build on that performance in GW22 when he plays Monza who is one of his favourite opponents.

Forwards

  • Oliver Giroud (€9m) – My first playing forward for GW22 is Oliver Giroud who has been great for me since I transferred him in in GW17. Giroud now has 10 goals and seven assists in 19 starts for Milan sharing the Talisman duties with Leao. He will want to get on the score sheet again in GW22 when Milan faces Bologna at home. He can also be a viable option for captaincy this week.
  • Romelu Lukaku (€9.2m) – Lukaku now has nine goals and one assist in 17 starts for Roma and is sharing the role of talisman with Paulo Dybala. He got a goal in the last game in the win against Verona. Roma will play Salernitana in GW22 and Lukaku will look to make his mark especially playing for the first time after Mourinho’s departure.

Captaincy

At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Danilo for reasons I have mentioned above. Paulo Dybala and Oliver Giroud are also in the running for captaincy as things stand.

As per usual, I will try and let everyone know on Twitter before the deadline. So make sure you are following me @FPLRossoneriNick & Fantasy Football Community for all the latest updates in Serie A Fantasy. That’s it for my GW22 Team reveal. See you in GW23. Best of luck and may all your arrows be green.
