Introduction
Welcome to my GW12 Team reveal for Serie A Fantasy. Here I pen down my thoughts about the team, my transfers if any, and my captain for each upcoming GW.
Looking at GW11 first. I got 79 points with a GW average being 56 points. It was a green arrow in terms of OR going from 745th to 461st in the world now. The star of the GW for me was Luca Caldirola who scored 12 points. My captain Rafa Leao was a disappointment though only getting four points. There are some great fixtures to target in GW12 for the likes of Inter, Sassuolo, Napoli and Milan.
Round 12 Team Reveal (subject to change)
Goalkeepers
- Lorenzo Montipo (€4.6m) – This GW I will be playing Montipo in goal as my second keeper Turati faces Inter away from home. Montipo himself has racked up saves and is tied second with Turati for most saves from open play with 38 saves each. Verona will play 14th-placed Genoa who have lost three of their last four matches in Serie A.
Defenders
- Luca Caldirola (€4.8m) – Caldirola is the mainstay in defence for Monza this season. He now has 58 points in just the last six GWs, helping Monza keep three clean sheets. Monza will play Torino at home in GW12 and given how both teams play from a defensive perspective, I do expect Caldirola to get a decent points haul again for me.
- Giovanni Di Lorenzo (€7.2m) – Giovanni Di Lorenzo has gone off the boil a bit in the recent games for Napoli but has still scored 46 points in his last seven games given he is the most expensive defender on the game I do expect a lot more. The good news for Di Lorenzo owners is he now has Empoli in the next GW which could provide some good points. Napoli are generally solid at home and I expect Di Lorenzo to do well in GW12.
- Theo Hernandez (€6.8m) – My third and final defender for GW12 will be my transfer this week Theo Hernandez from AC Milan. Milan are coming off an amazing performance in the Champions League after beating PSG at the San Siro and morale will be high going into GW12. Theo provided the all-important assist for the winning goal and he looks set to go on one of those streaks for Milan. Theo and Milan play Leece and I hope he can replicate his performance from midweek.
Midfielders
- Domenico Berardi (€10.4m) – Berardi will again be one of my midfield players for GW12 when Sassuolo battles it out against Salernitana. Berardi has not scored in his last three games but I do expect him to get going again in GW12, especially with games against Salernitana and Empoli coming up.
- Rafael Leao (€11.2m) – My big premium midfielder transfer from last week didn’t do much against Udinese as Milan put in one of their worst showings this season. But I am optimistic given how they played vs PSG and especially Leao who scored a bicycle kick and won not just the game but POTM on the night. Milan will again look to Leao to put in a great performance vs Lecce in GW12.
- Andrea Colpani (€5m) – My cheap enabler is Colpani and he showed again why he is one of the best budget enablers in Serie A Fantasy this season. At just a 5m price he already has five goals and one assist in 11 starts in a good Monza team and I expect him to carry on with his form in the coming GW against Torino at home. Colpani has scored all of his five goals at home so I expect him to do well again this week.
- Morten Frendrup (€4.4m) – My second cheap enabler is Frendrup who is quietly going about his business at least from a fantasy perspective. He now has racked up 69 TBIs in just 11 games which is the highest in the league by 19 TBIs and gives owners the assurance that no matter what he can always get anywhere between 5-7 points every GW. He will be up against Verona in GW12 and I expect a load of TBI points at the very least.
Forwards
- Romelu Lukaku (€9.2m) – Lukaku now has six goals in eight starts for Roma and looks set to take the role of talisman for the side from the Italian capital. Even though Lukaku missed a penalty in GW11, I still think he still has penalties in his locker and given that he is showing great form it only bodes well for owners like me. Roma will play Derby Della Capital in GW12 and Lukaku will look to make his mark on the derby.
- Lautaro Martinez (€11.2m) – Martinez looks a level above everyone else at the moment in Serie A given he has 12 goals and one assist in just 11 games for Inter. Lautaro scored again in GW11 and from the bench in their UCL game mid-week which is a sign that he is in prime form. In my opinion, Lautaro is the stand out captain option in GW12 when Inter play Frosinone at home.
- Gianluca Scamacca (€7.2m) – GW10 star Scamacca has been a hit-and-miss this season scoring braces in two games and blanking in all other games except the last one vs Inter. I feel like he is still finding his feet at his new club Atalanta and if his performance vs Empoli and Inter are anything to go by he is going to be a great fantasy option. Atalanta will play Udinese in GW12 and Scamacca again has great potential to do well in this upcoming GW.
Captaincy
At the moment of writing this article it is currently on Lautaro Martinez for reasons I have mentioned above, Dominico Berardi is also in the running for captaincy.
As per usual, I will try and let everyone know on Twitter before the deadline so make sure you are following me on there @FPLRossoneriNick. That’s it for my GW12 Team reveal, see you in GW13. Until then best of luck for GW12 in Serie A Fantasy, may all your arrows be green.
