Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 1

Italian football is back which means the fantasy football game is too! Get ready for the opening games as we take a look at a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 1 provided by regular @FplRossoneri as he also shares his general thoughts.

Checking out a Serie A Fantasy expert team reveal for Round 1 can be extremely beneficial for other fantasy managers. Twitter is full of some of the most experienced fantasy managers around so catching up with their plans could help bring clarity within our own teams.

Round 1 team reveal

Goalkeepers

  • Elia Caprile (€4.2m) – Caprile might be one of the cheapest starting GK’s after his transfer to Empoli after Vicario joined Spurs. In my opinion, you can’t really go wrong at his price.
  • Michele Cerofoloni (€4m) – I am going with another cheap GK who is set to start in goal for Frosinone, Cerofoloni will at least get a lot of save points and he is a good enabler at just €4m.

Defenders

  • Andrea Carboni (€4.4m) – One big change from my first draft is that I have decided to go cheaper in defence and thus Carboni comes in at €4.4m. He will be my Monza cover whom I have a very good feeling about this year.
  • Danilo (€6.4m) – He was the highest point-scoring player in Serie A fantasy last season and with the departure of Bonucci, Danilo looks set to have another great season for Juventus with no risk of rotation.
  • Matteo Darmian (€4.8m) – As Maehle has moved to Wolfsburg, I have brought in Darmian who is cheaper and is one of the nailed defenders in that Inter backline.
  • Nicolo Casale (€4.6m) – Casale is the cheapest route into a strong Lazio defence that kept 21 clean sheets last year.
  • Rasmus Kristensen (€4.4m) – Rounding off my defence with another cheap defender who looks set to start the new season for Roma, who have a favourable set of initial fixtures.

Midfielders

  • Rafael Leao (€11m) – I just can’t see a Serie A fantasy team where I don’t go with Leao in my team, he is fixture-proof and Milan’s Talisman who contributed 15 goals and eight assists in just 28 starts last season and looks set to continue his rich form into the new season.
  • Teun Koopmeiners (€7m) – Another sure starter for me is Koopmeiners who I feel is under-priced at just €7m. He had 10 goals and four assists in 32 starts for Atalanta last season and can come up with big point hauls now and again as we witnessed in the last GW of the previous season where he ended with 28 points.
  • Houssem Aouar (€6m) – Another change from my first draft is that I have decided to pick Aouar who along with Dybala will be the heart of the Roma midfield, Aouar at just €6m provides good value and enables me more budget to invest elsewhere.
  • Gabriel Strefezza (€5.4M) – Moving onto my midfield budget picks, Strefezza was an easy choice given his performances last year where he notched up eight goals and four assists for Lecce. At just €5.4m he also boasts penalty-taking duties and thus, in my opinion, should be in everyone’s teams as their cheap midfield option.
  • Christos Kourfalidis (€4.2M) – Another cheap enabler in midfield, Kourfalidis played close to 1200 mins for Cagliari in Serie B last year so he should at least be a starter.

Forwards

  • Victor Osimhen (€12M) – Osimhen is to Serie A Fantasy what Haaland is to FPL, he is a no-brainer in the forward spot. Napoli’s main man scored 26 goals last year along with four assists and is going to be a weekly captain option, he is currently already in 67.2% teams at the time of writing this article, I expect his ownership to hit the 80% mark by the start of GW1.
  • Lautaro Martinez (€11m) – Martinez is another player who we will see in a lot of teams, with the recent departures of Lukaku and Dzeko, he looks set to be Inter’ main threat going forward. Martinez scored 21 goals and six assists last season. In my opinion he is another no brainer in terms of selection into your Serie A Fantasy teams come GW1.
  • Ciro Immobile (€10.6m) – Here is the biggest change from my first draft. Immobile comes into my team, Lazio have two great fixtures to start Serie A with and I want their talisman goal scorer who is also on penalties as well. He has nine goals in pre-season which shows Immobile is ready to start the season in form.
