Serie A Fantasy Double Round Announced!
Serie A Fantasy Double Round Announced! Our expert @FPL_Crisk discusses the latest fixture update, what that could mean, his thoughts on another incoming double, and what that changes to the fixture ticker.
As you might already know, Bologna-Milan and Fiorentina-Inter were two matches originally scheduled for the first half of the season. But, both were postponed, leaving two Blank Rounds.
Serie A has finally rescheduled the two matches, allowing for two Double Rounds to take place in February.
While the Serie A Fantasy developers sort out how to implement the fixtures in the game, let’s have a look at both in order to plan to the best of our abilities!
FIORENTINA – INTER: DOUBLE ROUND 24
Fiorentina – Inter has been rescheduled for next Thursday, February 6th. This means that the deadline for Round 26 would be pushed one day in advance.
The most interesting fact about this Double Round is the fact that Inter – Fiorentina is already scheduled for February 9th, which means that both teams face each other twice during the Round.
A double up on Inter players is heavily suggested. While owning just one player from Fiorentina (who arguably have the worst possible Double) might be just fine.
BOLOGNA – MILAN: DOUBLE ROUND 26 or DOUBLE ROUND 27
The rescheduling of Bologna – Milan is still slightly up in the air. The fixture depends on Milan’s results against Feyenoord in the UCL Playoffs. If Milan advance to the Ro16, then the match will be played on Wednesday (26th February) and will probably fall under Round 26.
However, if Milan are knocked out by the Eredivisie side, then the match will be moved on Thursday (27th February) and likely fall under the following Round 27. This will cause the deadline to move a day earlier than usual.
Bologna have great fixtures in both Round 26 (Parma, a) and 27 (Cagliari, H). Given their already great run of matches, most managers should already own 1-2 players. Beware though, Italiano loves to rotate so everyone’s minutes could be at risk. If the Emilian side is lucky, Orsolini might have returned from injury by then, so also keep an eye on that!
Milan’s situation is a little bit different. Their two fixtures in Rounds 26 and 27 are not that easy (Torino away and Lazio at home). But, key assets like Pulisic remain very important regardless. Milan’s current form is far from their best. But, this match is far enough in the future for them to hopefully have regained their mojo back by then.
UPDATED FIXTURE TICKERS
I had some trouble with the ticker. Since Bologna-Milan’s rescheduling actually depends on the UCL results, it can fall in two different rounds, hence we have two versions of the ticker. This ticker is if the double happens on Wednesday:
