Double Round 20
This week, it’s a double Round for several teams, those sides include:
- Milan
- Bologna
- Atalanta
- Inter
- Juventus
- Como

Notes
- After dead-ending into the blanks in what turned out to be a successful Round 19, I’ve activated my wildcard to attack the double gameweek in Round 20.
- My main decisions centre around which (and how many) Bologna players I want in my squad and whether I go for a second Juventus player.
- Bologna’s two fixtures in Round 20 don’t look great from a defensive standpoint, so I’ve currently opted for Riccardo Orsolini and Santiago Castro, who are both high-risk, high-reward punts. However, I am wary of Vincenzo Italiano’s habit of rotating his players.
- There aren’t many Juventus players who interest me outside of Federico Gatti. I could take a one-week punt on Pierre Kalulu in place of Angeliño (although I’m keen on a Roma defender for their favourable run of fixtures), or play it safe and downgrade Orsolini to Kenan Yıldız.
- Inter and Milan have the best double gameweek fixtures, so my captaincy will go to one of Marcus Thuram, Yann Sommer or Theo Hernández, who looks to be back in favour for the Rossoneri following Sergio Conceição’s arrival.

Notes
- I have six players with a double round. I still have the WC but I won’t use it, as I can get the team that I will be happy with using three ft.
- The transfer plan is to get three players with a double round: Dybala > CDK, Dodo > Theo, these two transfers are locked.
- My third transfer, I’ll wait for more news on, Thuram if he’s fit to start both games. I’ll also get Beukema/Paz (or both by talking a hit).
- Captaincy: I am between Sommer and Theo at the moment.

Notes
- It’s time to use my only Wildcard of the season in order to set myself up for the Double Round and the run of fixtures ahead.
- Teams like Milan, Bologna, Inter and Atalanta are obvious targets for both reasons, but I don’t want to focus too much on doublers and ignore other great picks from Roma, Lazio and Fiorentina.
- My main goalkeeper will still be De Gea. But, with Svilar being relatively cheap and the two rotating pretty effectively in the next few rounds, I can see myself using the Serbian a lot.
- In defence I feel like at least one defender from Napoli and Milan each is a must.
- Gatti and Beukema seem pretty nailed and can cover a decent amount of favourable fixtures without the need of being transferred out.
- Dumfries is still a doubt, as I am debating going for a Lazio defender like Nuno Tavares. With Darmian now back in the squad I fear for the Dutch WB’s minutes.
- In midfield I decided to spend a lot. Lookman, Pulisic and Orsolini are pretty self-explanatory.
- Zaccagni is suspended for Round 20, but I can afford to bench him since I’m playing the doublers, while Saelemaekers is a cheap way into Roma’s attack. I am a huge fan of the guy from when he signed for AC Milan in 2020. Also, since his return from injury, he’s had five returns in five matches helping Roma finding back their form.
- In attack I just went with the three best performing strikers in the game, no need to overthink it: Retegui is still a doubt for the weekend, but my idea is to have him from Round 22 onwards.

- This is my team currently. I’m not sure I can sufficiently use the budget by making the switch between Lautaro and Thuram. That and I still think Lautaro has better potential for the remainder of the season.
- The Inter defence is always a major risk for minutes. So paying the big bucks for Sommer, I think is fully worth it.
- I like my Atalanta double in midfield, not owning De Ketelaere recently feels like an opportunity missed, but here we are.
- My Juventus double up is now locked. Lack of decent midfield options, and liking defenders from other sides has made me settle with Yildiz.
- Since my last draft, I removed both Castellanos and Thiaw, replacing them with Hernandez and Castro. This was primarily because Hernandez scored and now seems in favour once more. I’ve never really been keen on the Lazio attack anyway. Castro is nice and cheap for Bologna, underwhelming, but nice and cheap.
- It’s a straight shoot between Roma and Lazio assets. None of theses sides have been that reliable this season. So, investing, even with good fixtures seems underwhelming. For now I have got Tavares alone. I also think I can probably go without a Roma defender until Round 24. I may decide that a Roma defender could, outscore Giovanni Lorenzo over the next period, the Napoli fixtures are terrible.
- Paz is my biggest decision this week, do I play him ahead of Di Lorenzo? I really like Paz long-term anyway as a third option on the bench, and he’s also very cheap.
- My captain will be Sommer, he’s one of few players I think will definitely play twice.
- I could also potentially have 11 players who play twice this week.
- Good luck!
