Score Predictions: Gameweek 13

When making FPL decisions many FPL managers mentally predict the outcome of matches

  • Who will win?
  • Will there be a clean sheet in this match?
  • How many goals can I see being scored?
  • How many players do I want to play in this game?

Ahead of Gameweek 12 FPL Talking Points predicting the most correct results, managing to predict where the points would go in six of the ten matches.

We asked the managers to take a look at the Gameweek 13 fixtures. With the exception of Spurs away at Burnley the panel don’t think there will be many away wins this weekend.

Here they predict the results and explain what they think this means for FPL decision making.

Gameweek 13

Liverpool v Southampton (Sat 15:00)

FPL Commentary

FPL Shake n Bake

Liverpool looked sublime last week against Arsenal last week and I fear that will continue against everyone’s favourite budget defender, Tino Livramento, with Salah and Mane both looking in good form. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has scored in each of his last 5 appearances vs Newcastle, so could be worth investing in ahead of Gameweek 13.

FPL Focus

I can see Chelsea taking advantage of mangerless Manchester United and their poor form, even after their Champions League win in midweek, with the blues taking an easy win. I am expecting Crystal Palace to beat Aston Villa as I still think Villa are settling into life under their new manager and are looking for the right starting 11.

This weekend should see Liverpool register an easy win v Southampton with Salah carrying on form – he is likely to be highly captained this weekend and rightly so. I also think Watford will beat Leicester in 5 goal thriller, with West Ham just not enough to beat Man City.

FPL Inzaghi

Liverpool are in such good form, even with some injury concerns I can see them comfortably beating Southampton at Anfield. I am predicting that the new manager bounce at Norwich continues and they grab a point at home to Wolves. Meanwhile Man City and Chelsea should manage comfortable wins this weekend whilst there’s goals galore in the Leicester vs Watford match.

FPL Talking Points

There is absolutely no love for Southampton across the community predictions panel this week, and I whole-heartedly agree! As a result I will hand the armband the Mo Salah for Gameweek 12.

Crystal Palace will continue to rack up the goals and the points this gameweek. With even more good fixtures ahead, it isn’t too late to scoop up one of their budget enablers.

Finally Burnley can’t keep a clean sheet to save their lives, so hopefully now is finally the time for either Son or Kane to deliver for Spurs under Conte.

FPL Rabbi

I think this week is another good opportunity for the top three teams get a clean sheet, what makes the premium defenders look as strong options once again. I can also see Spurs getting only a narrow win and Newcastle being involved in another goal-fest in the Emirates which could be good news for Wilson or Smith-Rowe owners who missed out on points last week, less so for Ramsdale owners.

El Statto

I expect Arsenal to bounce back after being turned over in Gameweek 12. Meanwhile, Liverpool at home to Southampton will likely see Salah’s EO close to 200% again. Could this be the week Spurs assets stand up and reward their owners? I think it might be.
