With the FIFA World Cup Fantasy game reset ahead of the knockout games, here’s the Round of 16 tips.

After a limited time tinkering, the site Round of 16 team can be revealed.

Ultimately, we’ve focused mainly on the current round, instead of looking too far ahead and with the flexibility of a wildcard, it felt like the ideal time to unleash the Bench Boost chip. The attack was prioritised over the defence, with clean sheets difficult to forecast at this stage. We also looked for defenders with attacking threat, making use of the extra cash budget available. Captain picks dictated the initial names on the team sheet, with just four days to choose from to select the armband: here’s the players we selected. Saturday – France (vs Argentina) – Pogba Sunday – Spain (vs Russia) – Costa Monday – Belgium (vs Japan) – Lukaku Tuesday – England (vs Colombia) – Kane We also desired attacking players from Brazil and Croatia, given their favourable fixtures, with Coutinho and Modric selected for their reliability so far. Budget restrictions meant that we opted for Cheryshev and Inui in the final midfield positions: we don’t expect Russia or Japan to progress, but these cheapies are capable of attacking returns. In defence, it was the favourable fixtures for Belgium, Brazil, Spain and Croatia which caught our eye. With Marcelo injured, Miranda took the Brazil slot. Ramos has plenty of attacking threat, despite a big outlay in price. Likewise, Meunier has to be a fantasy favourite, playing right wing back in the Belgian set up. Subasic got the nod for Croatia, with the Japan keeper as a backup, who could amass some save points for us. Granqvist has penalties in his locker, with the budget affording us Akanji in what could be a tight game.

FC – Captains and Set Pieces

FPL F.C. has been particularly helpful on Twitter, collating penalty takers for the teams who have reached the knockout rounds. In addition, he’s highlighted some possible captain candidates for each day of competition.

Day 2: Costa, Isco, Modric, Eriksen
Day 3: Neymar, Coutinho, Lukaku, Hazard
Day 4: Kane, James, Falcao, Shaqiri
