Player and team statistics of FPL 2024/25

The 2024/25 season is all over, with Liverpool crowned champions, relegations for the promoted trio and six teams qualifying for the Champions League but, before the summer truly gets underway, here is a collection of interesting FPL player and team statistics.

Dominant in so many areas, let’s try gathering some of Mohamed Salah‘s (£13.6m) league-leading numbers in one place.
Not only did the Egyptian King set a new FPL points record all the way back in Gameweek 28, his final day equaliser versus Crystal Palace allowed him to join Alan Shearer and Andy Cole on 47 goal contributions in a single campaign.
Those were way ahead of Alexander Isak (£9.4m) and Bryan Mbeumo (£8.3m), on 29, as were his 9.1 points per start.
Nobody exceeded 11 double-digit hauls in any of the previous three seasons. Well, Salah achieved 12 in his first 18 outings, reaching 17 before Gameweek 29. This included both Double Gameweek 24 encounters, allowing one million chips users to triple those 29 points.
Scarily, he also found time to hit the woodwork more often than anyone else – six times.
DEFENDERS

- POINTS: Gvardiol (153), Alexander-Arnold (148), Milenkovic (145)
- ATTACKING RETURNS: Ait-Nouri (11), Munoz (10), Alexander-Arnold (10), Robinson (10)
- ATTEMPTS: Alexander-Arnold (45), Gvardiol (40), Schar (40)
- SHOTS ON TARGET: Munoz (14), Gvardiol (12), Schar (11), Cucurella (11)
- BIG CHANCES: Gvardiol (10), Munoz (9), Schar (7), Gabriel (7), Milenkovic (7)
- CHANCES CREATED: Davis (61), Porro (57), Alexander-Arnold (53)
- BIG CHANCES CREATED: Alexander-Arnold (15), Digne (15), Davis (12)
- GK POINTS: Pickford (158), Sels (150), Raya (142)
- GK SAVES: Flekken (156), Ramsdale (126), Pickford (122)
- GK SAVE POINTS: Flekken (39), Ramsdale (30), Sels (27)
Man City’s Josko Gvardiol (£6.5m) ended up being the league’s most creative player without an assist, setting up 26 chances. So he’ll just have to be the joint-best defender for goals (five) and the leader for points (153) and big chances (10) instead.
Between the sticks, Brentford goalkeeper Mark Flekken (£4.5m) is in pole position for both saves (156) and FPL save points (39). By quite a distance, too. In fact, no one has more from Europe’s supposed ‘big five’ leagues.
The Dutchman even has two assists to his name, following one from 2023/24. But he still wasn’t the best starting £4.5m goalkeeper – that honour belongs to Matz Sels (£5.2m).
OTHER 2024/25 FPL STATISTICS

- POINTS PER MATCH PER MILLION (OUTFIELD): Amad (0.992), Wood (0.926), Mbeumo (0.887)
An FPL all-rounder, penalty-taking playmaker Bruno Fernandes (£8.4m) is also third-best for crosses (186) and joint-eighth for shots (96), albeit many were from far out. Without him, Man United could have been in genuine danger of relegation.
After two seasons of almost matching his expected goals (xG) projection, Mbeumo vastly outdid it this time. 20 goals from an expected 12.26. As for underachievement, this was all set to be Eberechi Eze‘s (£7.0m) prize until a late burst of form. Instead, Savinho (£6.0m) pips last season’s ‘winner’ Dominic Calvert-Lewin (£5.4m).
Based on starting price, Amad Diallo (£5.3m) brought the best combination of good value and a strong rate of points, from outfielders who started at least 10 times.

Meanwhile, it makes complete sense that the champions accumulated the most shots, goals, big chances and attempts on target, as last-placed Southampton conceded the highest of each.
Liverpool also joined Arsenal, Man City and Nottingham Forest in having strong defensive numbers. This allowed Tottenham to take the crown of most entertaining team (129 goals), with Everton deemed the least (86).
