Checking out the most popular transfers for Gameweek 8 can be really helpful to fantasy managers. Whether it be due to injuries, bans, player and team form, the transfers other people are making can help bring clarity to our own decisions.
The most popular transfers in
- Son Heung-min (£9.4m) – The Tottenham midfielder sits as the highest transferred in player with 881626. Son bagged three returns in his last four matches and faces newly promoted side Luton next up.
- Ollie Watkins (£8m) – Leading the Aston Villa line the striker amassed a whopping 23 points in his most recent game. He has also returned in all but one of his matches so far this season which could be a factor as to why he ranks as the second highest with 798988 transfers in. Watkins comes up against Wolves in Gameweek 8.
- Matty Cash (£4.9m) – Another Aston Villa player to make the top three is Matty Cash with 657654 transfers in. Cash also ranks higher than any other defender in terms of non-penalty expected goal involvement.
- James Maddison (£8m) – So far the Tottenham midfielder has registered at least one return in four of his first seven matches. That and the fact he has a good fixture against Luton ahead could explain why he is the fourth most bought player ahead of Gameweek 8 (485299).
- Kieran Trippier (£6.8m) – Completing the top five is the Newcastle full-back (403313 transfers in). He has a game against West Ham next and he has been sustaining better distribution stats than any other defender in the league.
The most popular transfers out
- Pervis Estupinan (£5.2m) – The Brighton full-back picked up a long-term injury recently which could be why he is the highest transferred out player (1183429). Brighton are yet to keep a single clean sheet so far this season which could have contributed to some of those numbers.
- Bukayo Saka (£8.6m) – Saka has been frustrating FPL managers due to consistent knocks and not knowing if he will start the game. The Arsenal midfielder also has a tough match against Manchester City next up so both could explain the 519177 transfers out this week.
- Marcus Rashford (£8.8m) – The Manchester United has failed to return in any of his last three league matches which could explain why he is the third most transferred out player this week (502371). He comes up against Brentford next.
- Ben Chilwell (£5.5m) – Chilwell recently picked up an injury which could rule him out for months. When he was playing he was also starting sporadically, failing to start some matches. Both factors have contributed towards him being sold by 443190 managers.
- Sven Botman (£4.7m) – Botman also picked up an injury ahead of Gameweek 8 of which he has been ruled out of. There could be a mass push from managers bringing him back in ahead but for now ranks as the fifth most transferred out player with 420936.
