Most Popular FPL Picks for Gameweek 6

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 6. Using the Official Fantasy Premier League ownership data we can find out who the fantasy football community are picking ahead of the new round.

Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 6 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the third round.

Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week.

1. Erling Haaland – 70% Ownership

Manchester City forward Erling Haaland (£15.3m) seems to be extending his lead at the top with a huge 70% ownership. At the time of writing the Norwegian has racked up a huge nine goals in his first three matches and a game against Newcastle away from home could see that tally increase.

2. Mohamed Salah – 47% Ownership

Another player who has increased his ownership since last week is Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Salah (£12.7m). Salah faces a Wolves side who shipped 11 goals in their first four matches so the Egyptian has a lovely fixture to extend his early season form.

3. Cole Palmer – 40% Ownership

Chelsea’s Cole Palmer (£10.6m) has edged his way into the top three after forcing Alexander Isak out. The Chelsea penalty taker flopped in his recent match against Bournemouth and has tough opposition ahead with Brighton awaiting him.

4. William Saliba – 36% Ownership

Alexander Isak’s drop out of the top five since Gameweek 5 seems to have shuffled the pack upwards with William Saliba (£6m) stepping up one place. The Arsenal centre-back goes into next game with good clean sheet potential as newly promoted side Leicester lay ahead.

5. Pedro Porro – 34% Ownership

For the first time this season two defenders make their way into the top five players for ownership. The second defender is Tottenham full-back Pedro Porro (£5.6m). Since scoring in Gameweek 1 Porro has failed to register another attacking return and that could continue this week as he faces a meeting with Manchester United away from home.

The Rest of the Top 10

The remainder of the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 6 includes Alexander Isak (£8.4m), someone we have already mentioned numerous times. His drop in ownership is likely due to a combination of tough fixtures and minor injuries.

Liverpool have another good chance at a clean sheet this week with Wolves away. Of those set to benefit as usual is full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7m) who sits seventh this week. He is joined by Brighton striker and penalty taker Joao Pedro (£5.7m) who faces tough opposition in Chelsea next up.

Filling the remainder of the top 10 up is an Arsenal duo. Ninth place is taken up by penalty taker Bukayo Saka (£10m) who picked up a return in all of his matches prior to the match against Manchester City. A match against Leicester could well increase his ownership rapidly this week. The same goes for 10th place David Raya (£5.5m) who remains the cheapest and most reliable route into the Arsenal backline.
