Most Popular FPL Picks for Gameweek 4

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 4. Using the Official Fantasy Premier League ownership data we can find out who the fantasy football community are picking ahead of the new round.

Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 4 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the third round.

Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week.

1. Erling Haaland – 66.3% Ownership

Sitting top of the pile with higher ownership than any other player is Erling Haaland (£15.2m). The Manchester City striker bagged three goals in each of his previous two matches. This could be the main reason his ownership has rocketed recently. He faces Brentford at home this week and it could be an ideal fixture for him to continue his brilliant form.

2. Alexander Isak – 43.6% Ownership

Previously the highest owned player in the game Alexander Isak (£8.5m) has slipped into second due to his overall form. One assist and one goal in his first three matches doesn’t appear to be good enough for his previous owners but a fixture against Wolves next up should be reason enough to stick with him.

3. Mohamed Salah – 42% Ownership

Completing the top three for Gameweek 4 is none other than Mohamed Salah (£12.7m). The Liverpool penalty is the only other player who has matched Erling Haaland for points up until this early stage. Taking into account his current form and home fixture a meeting with Nottingham Forest could be a fantastic opportunity for both him and his owners.

4. Cole Palmer – 41% Ownership

Currently flagged in the game Cole Palmer (£10.6m) didn’t participate for country during the break and was also excluded from Chelsea’s Conference League squad. Strong sources suggest that Cole Palmer is fine and the Blues are just safeguarding his fitness but only time will tell. Five goal contributions in his first three matches and a visit to Bournemouth indicates big potential if he features.

5. William Saliba – 38.2% Ownership

William Saliba (£6m) places fifth in the top 10 ahead of Gameweek 4. Arsenal produced two three clean sheets in their first three matches resulting in the Frenchman having a successful start to the new FPL campaign. There are huge questions marks around whether he can produce this week however as the Gooners come head-to-head with London rivals Tottenham.

The Rest of the Top 10

Tottenham full-back Pedro Porro (£5.5m) also secures his position into the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 4. Arsenal at home is the next fixture and it could be one worth avoiding for owners.

Two more Arsenal players come in with high ownership, David Raya (£5.5m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.1m). Saka has returned in each of his first three matches and there could be more success this week for him against a ropey Tottenham backline.

Filling in the gaps is Liverpool defender Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7m) and Manchester defender Josko Gvardiol (£6m). Ownership of the former will be much happier than those of the latter. Alexander-Arnold has produced a clean sheet in all three of his matches so far whilst the Croatian has managed just one.
