Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 19 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the new round.
Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week
1. Mohamed Salah – 67.4% Ownership
Keeping the number one spot heading into the new round is Mohamed Salah (£13.5m). The Egyptian hasn’t failed to return at least once since Gameweek 7, which reflects his relentless form heading into a clash with a ropey West Ham defence.
2. Cole Palmer – 67% Ownership
Not far off the top spot, Cole Palmer (£11.3m) maintains his place in second. Chelsea have a huge opportunity this week as they come up against Ipswich. The Tractor Boys have been poor all season defensively, which is something the Chelsea penalty taker could take advantage of in the round ahead.
3. Alexander Isak – 42.7% Ownership
Rocketing up the list from seventh to third is Newcastle striker Alexander Isak (£9.1m). Scoring three or more goals in their previous four league matches, the Magpies are in scintillating attacking form. Contributing heavily to that, Isak has netted a huge seven goals in his previous-five matches. This week he faces a poor Manchester United defence, which could see him add to his overall tally.
4. Erling Haaland – 32.7% Ownership
Dropping around 5% in ownership, Erling Haaland (£14.8m) continues to plunge his way down the list week by week. The Norwegian has managed just one goal in his last five matches, but a clash against promoted side Leicester this week could turn his form around.
5. David Raya – 31.5% Ownership
Keeping his position in the top five ahead of Gameweek 19 is David Raya (£5.6m). The Arsenal goalkeeper has played a crucial role in their recent defensive success. This week sees the Gooners face-off against one of the highest scorers in the league so far in Brentford. So, it could be difficult for the Spaniard to continue his recent form.
The Rest of the Top 10
Keeping his sixth place position from the previous round, William Saliba (£6.3m) is the second Arsenal asset to make the top 10. If Arsenal fail to keep a clean sheet against Brentford, Saliba has also shown he has goal threat potential to fall back on.
Nicolas Jackson (£8.3m) may have moved up a place since the last round. But, overall he has dropped in terms of ownership. This could be due to two back-to-back blanks in his previous two matches. An away trip to Ipswich could be the opening Jackson needs to recapture his form.
Interestingly, Bryan Mbeumo (£7.6m) appears to be gaining ownership once more. Tough fixtures contributed to his previous drop in managers, but goals against Chelsea and Newcastle recently, could have contributed to his recent uplift.
Breaking into the top 10 again after recently falling out is Arsenal centre-back Gabriel (£6.3m). The latter was largely due to an injury, of which he has now recovered from. The Brazilian is very likely to become even more popular as the weeks go on due to his attacking threat from set-plays.
Completing the top 10, Pedro Porro (£5.5m) clings to his position with Liverpool’ Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.1m) in chase. Porro failed to start his previous match against Nottingham Forest, which is likely to frustrate his already disgruntled owners.
