Most Popular FPL Picks for Gameweek 14

Last modified date

In this article we take a look at the top 10 most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 14. Using the Official Fantasy Premier League ownership data we can find out who the fantasy football community are picking ahead of the new round.

Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 14 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the new round.

Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week

1. Mohamed Salah – 55.8% Ownership

Most Popular FPL Picks for Gameweek 14

Pushing his way up from third most selected last week, to first this week, is Mohamed Salah (£13.1m). This may come as no surprise after the Egyptian accumulated a whopping 10 goals and six assists in his first 12 matches. Newcastle away in Gameweek 14 is a fine chance for him to continue that form.

2. Cole Palmer – 54.8% Ownership

Maintaining his position as the second most selected player in the game ahead of Gameweek 14 is Cole Palmer (£10.9m). Palmer faces rock bottom Southampton next up, who continues to maintain some of the worst defensive data in the league.

3. Erling Haaland – 54.3% Ownership

Dropping from first to third after scoring just two goals in his last six league matches is Erling Haaland (£15.1m). The Norwegian appears to be enduring a tough patch, but a home clash against Nottingham Forest up next could change that.

Bryan Mbeumo – 41% Ownership

Brentford look to be approaching a negative fixture swing, with clashes against Aston Villa, Newcastle and Chelsea in their next three matches. Recent form suggests Mbeumo has been slowing down in terms of output recently – picking up just one assist in the three matches prior to Leicester last week.

5. Bukayo Saka

Breaking into the top five and gaining a huge 5% ownership is Bukayo Saka (£10.2m). The Arsenal midfielder has produced a goal and an assist in each of his last two matches in all competitions. He takes that form into a home match against a Manchester United side, who are under new management.

The Rest of the Top 10

Dropping out of the top five since last week, Josko Gvardiol (£6.3m) has lost around 2% backing of his owners. Manchester City continue to disappoint defensively, which seems to be having a negative impact on their player ownership data in general.

Two Arsenal players make up the bottom five, David Raya (£5.5m) and Gabriel (£6.2m). The former will be hoping to improve his clean sheet tally, whilst the latter breaks into the top 10 for the first time this season.

Another player who has increased by around 2% ownership is Tottenham’ Pedro Porro (£5.5m). Porro scored and kept a clean sheet against Manchester City recently. This was another reminder of how attacking he can be.

Dropping in popularity since last week, Fulham midfielder Emile Smith Rowe (£5.8m) embarks on his increasingly tough schedule this week. Brighton lay ahead, with matches against Arsenal and Liverpool following.
