Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 12 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the new round.
Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week
1. Erling Haaland – 63.9% Ownership
Although he continues to fall in terms of ownership, Manchester City striker Erling Haaland (£15.2m) remains the highest owned player in the game. The Norwegian has found the net just twice in his previous six league games, but faces a leaky Tottenham side up next.
2. Cole Palmer – 53.5% Ownership
Sticking with 53% ownership, Cole Palmer (£10.9m) remains in second place. The Chelsea star has been excellent this season, continuing his relentless form from the previous campaign. Next up for Palmer is a Leicester side who have sustained very poor defensive statistics this season.
3. Mohamed Salah – 49.8% Ownership
Rising by 3% ownership, Mohamed Salah (£12.9m) continues to gain momentum. Liverpool’s Egyptian midfielder has racked up an eye-watering seven double-digit hauls this season for his efforts, and takes that form into a game against newly promoted side Southampton this week.
4. Bryan Mbeumo – 43.3% Ownership
Another player who has cemented in their position amongst the top five highest owned players is Bryan Mbeumo (£7.9m). Mbeumo sits as the fourth highest scoring player in the game due to his brilliant start. Everton away this week could a great opportunity for him to build on that.
5. Josko Gvardiol – 31.7% Ownership
Manchester City have kept just one clean sheet in their last six matches. However, one factor towards Josko Gvardiol’s (£6.3m) top five position could be the fact he managed three goals in the same period. The Croatian faces an interesting clash with Tottenham this week in an attempt to add to his tally.
The Rest of the Top 10
The rest of the top 10 comprises of the same players as in the previous week.
Top and bottom of the list is David Raya and Bukayo Saka respectively. Arsenal go into their meeting with Nottingham Forest having failed to win any of their previous four league matches. Their opposition will be hoping to bounce back from their recent Gameweek 11 loss to Newcastle.
Tottenham’s Pedro Porro makes the list, but for how long? The Portuguese full-back has managed just one return in his last five matches, and he faces a ruthless test against a Manchester City side desperate for a win.
Similar in ownership, Emile Smith Rowe and Trent Alexander-Arnold have huge potential this week. The former faces Wolves, who have been woeful defensively this season, whilst the latter, if fit, clashes with rock bottom Southampton.
