Taking a look at the most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 10 can be hugely enlightening for fantasy managers. Knowing who the majority are selecting within their sides can help you make moves in your team ahead of the eighth round.
Note: Ownership statistics will inevitably change throughout the week
1. Erling Haaland – 73.7% Ownership
Maintaining the same ownership as last week Erling Haaland (£15.4m) remains at the top with 73.7%. The Norwegian returned just once between Gameweek 5-8 so he will be hoping to recapture some of his early season form which saw him net 10 goals in his first five matches.
Cole Palmer – 54.4% Ownership
Up by around 4% Cole Palmer (£10.9m) maintains his second place position behind Erling Haaland. At the time of writing Palmer sits as the joint second highest scoring player in the game, and over a third of his points came from a huge 25-pointer against Brighton in Gameweek 6.
3. Mohamed Salah – 39.2% Ownership
Slightly up by 1% ownership is Mohamed Salah (£12.6m). The Egyptian has been in excellent form this season – racking up a huge five double-digit hauls in his first eight games. Salah has a home meeting with Brighton next up which could be opportunity to add to that tally.
4. Bryan Mbeumo – 34.6% Ownership
Bursting into the top 10 for the first time is Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo (£7.6m) with 34.6% ownership. Mbeumo has netted six times already this season and faces a Fulham side next up who have been leaking goals recently.
5. David Raya – 30.8% Ownership
Completing the top five most popular FPL picks for Gameweek 10 is David Raya (£5.7m). Interestingly, although climbing into the top five since last week Raya’s ownership has actually dropped. The Spaniard has failed to keep a clean sheet since Gameweek 4, so owners will be hoping that changes this week against Newcastle.
The Rest of the Top 10
Two other Liverpool assets make the top 10. Luis Diaz’s (£7.9m) recent failure to start matches seems to have driven up sales. Teammate Trent Alexander-Arnold (£7.1m) has also dropped, probably due to tough upcoming fixtures.
One player who seems to be increasing in popularity week on week is Ollie Watkins (£9.1m). The Aston Villa striker has returned in all of his last matches bar one. So, he goes into his meeting with Tottenham in fine form.
Making up the remainder of the bottom five is Tottenham defender Pedro Porro (£5.5m) and Manchester City defender Josko Gvardiol (£6.1m).
