Notes
- I’ve gone for Matt Freese on the front end of my ‘keeperoo. NYCFC play first on Saturday, meaning you can see both of their DGW scores before pivoting to any SGW ‘keeper. Andrew Rick is my preferred fallback given Philly’s home fixture against the Revs.
- In defence, I’ve paired Freese and Rick with Justin Haak and Kai Wagner, respectively. My other defenders are DGW players with bonus point (Steven Moreira) and/or offensive potential (Jordi Alba and Ryan Hollingshead). Hollingshead rested against San Jose but remains a rotation risk, so I may re-evaluate which LAFC defender I go for. Sergi Palencia is my preferred route into their defence but is one yellow card from suspension.
- Midfielders look tricky this week. Ironically, two of the first names in my team were my SGW fallbacks, Anders Dreyer and Evander, who both have favourable fixtures (albeit away from home). Albert Rusnák is the closest DGW player to being locked in my team, providing he starts against Inter Miami on Tuesday. Dániel Gazdag also looks a decent option despite the absence of the injured Diego Rossi. The lack of midfield options for LAFC means Diego Luna takes the final midfield spot, although I haven’t ruled out a bench punt on a NYCFC midfielder.
- Upfront, Lionel Messi is a lock despite Inter Miami’s sketchy form of late. Son Heung-min is also guaranteed a spot. Denis Bouanga and Alonso MartÃnez fight for the final forward spot. MartÃnez currently gets the nod by virtue of two home fixtures, but that spot will likely be decided by line-ups.

Notes
- It’s a big DGW with some heavy hitting teams.
- It’s also quick turns for Messi and Miami who play Seattle, LAFC and Columbus.
- Messi is my captain right now, unless we get news, but Son or Bouanga are in with a chance.
- Austin play last and so can be used for last minute scrub scenarios.
- I don’t love the defensive double ups at all really, again like last week, given how many goals were conceded last week.
- I need to watch the line-ups tomorrow and Wednesday ahead of the weekend for sure.
